The Sports Network reports former Indianapolis Colts and Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE Ken Dilger has decided to retire, according to his agent Mark Bartelstein. "It has been a pleasure and an honor to represent Ken Dilger," said Bartelstein in making the announcement about Dilger. "He is one of the classiest athletes I have had the chance to work with," added Bartelstein. Dilger started for the Buccaneers in Super Bowl XXXVII.

Paul Kuharsky, of the Tennessean, reports the Tennessee Titans would like to add a veteran, free agent tight end to their roster. One player it won't be is free agent TE Ken Dilger (Buccaneers). His agent said he doesn't see Dilger playing for Tennessee.

Mike Chappell reports for the Indianapolis Star that TE Ken Dilger of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers never found out why his former team, the Indianapolis Colts, terminated his contract last year. “I don’t know if it was personal or what,” said Dilger. “We never got an answer from them. All we got was a FedEx (letter) telling me they were going to terminate my contract. There were a lot of unanswered questions.” Dilger stated he feels “very fortunate” to be in the Super Bowl.
