"If we need to make a move to pull (Barber) back from safety to corner, we can do that in a heartbeat," Dominik said when asked about the possibility of losing CB Aqib Talib following his trial on assault charges in June.

A grand jury returned indictments on Talib and his mother, Okolo, for assault with a deadly weapon in connection with a shooting March 21 in Garland, Texas. The second degree felony carries a maximum sentence of up to 20 years. Attorney Frank Perez had the first court setting on the case Thursday, June 2, although Talib was not required to appear.

Police say that Talib fired two shots at Shannon Billings during the altercation. Okolo Talib said that her son took the gun from her and chased after Billings with the gun in his hand. Oklolo Talib said he heard a gunshot and admits it could have been Aqib Talib that shot the gun. Talib's attorney said he is confident that the matter will be resolved in Talib's favor once all of the evidence is presented.

However, the indictment is not expected to officially be reported until Friday, May 27. Talib is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second degree felony which carries a punishment of two to 20 years in prison, for his role in a March 21 shooting. Police say Talib attempted to pistol whip and later fired gunshots at his sister's boyfriend, Shannon Billings. Nobody was injured. Talib's mother, Okolo, also faces similar charges.
