Miami Dolphins QB Chad Henne was asked during his press conference Wednesday, Dec. 16, about what makes WR Davone Bess so effective on third down. Henne said, "It is just his quickness, how he can maneuver his body, how he can get in and out of cuts. Makes him deadly for a defensive back. It is tough to go up in his face and press him even though he isn't going to beat you down the field with speed, he will beat you with quickness and breaking out of the routes."

Miami Dolphins head coach Tony Sparano said during his press conference Monday, Dec. 7, that he felt the New England Patriots' initial game plan Week 13 was to take Dolphins WR Davone Bess out of the game. Sparano said, "We felt like they might try to press him as much as they could press him, so moving him around a little bit, trying to do some things that way. We moved him outside-in, just have him constantly moving and taking the press off him if we could. I thought that it was good design and it gave him a chance."

Armando Salguero, of The Miami Herald, reports Miami Dolphins head coach Tony Sparano likes his current group of wide receivers. WR Davone Bess is second in the NFL in third-down receptions. WR Greg Camarillo has converted 10 passes on 10 attempts on third down. Sparano said, "We think they don't make plays but those guys are making plays. It's one of the reasons we're second in the league on third down conversion."
