Patriots | Martellus Bennett may need surgery

Sun, 22 Jan 2017 09:21:12 -0800

New England Patriots TE Martellus Bennett (ankle) has been playing with a cracked bone in his ankle as well as bone chips in the ankle and likely will need to undergo surgery this offseason.

Fantasy Tip: Bennett has not posted great receiving yards over the last several weeks and probably has been affected by his injured ankle. He did find the end zone in three of his last four regular season game and is a weapon in the red zone. Fantasy owners can consider Bennett a No. 1 tight end this week.

Patriots | Martellus Bennett likely to play

Sat, 21 Jan 2017 23:53:09 -0800

New England Patriots TE Martellus Bennett (knee) is expected to play in the AFC Championship game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Fantasy Tip: Bennett's production was disappointing for much of 2016, but he did score in three of the last four regular season games. The Steelers struggled to contain Kansas City's Travis Kelce (five catches, 77 yards) last week as well, and Bennett has the skills to take advantage.
