Patriots | Martellus Bennett almost invisible

Sun, 04 Dec 2016 16:17:23 -0800

New England Patriots TE Martellus Bennett managed just two catches for four yards on four targets in the Week 13 game against the Los Angeles Rams.

Fantasy Tip: Fantasy owners were expecting a lot more for Bennett, especially with Rob Gronkowski done for the season. Bennett has been the ultimate boom or bust fantasy play lately, posting big stats or very little production at all.

Patriots | Martellus Bennett to play Sunday

Sun, 04 Dec 2016 07:12:35 -0800

New England Patriots TE Martellus Bennett (ankle, shoulder) will play in Week 13's game against the Los Angeles Rams.

Fantasy Tip: Bennett was a limited participant in the team's two most recent practice sessions during the week and was listed as questionable on the injury report. With Rob Gronkowski sidelined for the remainder of the season, Bennett should see an increased number of targets going forward and should be viewed as a TE1 despite several recent disappointing performances.

Patriots | Martellus Bennett questionable for Week 13

Fri, 02 Dec 2016 13:56:35 -0800

New England Patriots TE Martellus Bennett (ankle, shoulder) is listed as questionable for Week 13 versus the Los Angeles Rams.

Fantasy Tip: Rob Gronkowski's absence would seem to serve as a boost for Bennett's fantasy fortunes, but he may be too injured to take advantage and should be viewed as a TE2. Since his three-touchdown explosion in Week 5, Bennett has scored double-digit fantasy points in PPR only once and failed to find the end zone. Dion Lewis, James White and Malcolm Mitchell appear to be much better bets to see more targets moving forward.

Patriots | Martellus Bennett returns to practice

Thu, 01 Dec 2016 17:31:49 -0800

New England Patriots TE Martellus Bennett (ankle, shoulder) was limited at practice Thursday, Dec. 1.

Fantasy Tip: Bennett missed practice on Wednesday, but this news indicates he'll be good to go for Week 13. With Rob Gronkowski (back) out indefinitely, there will be nothing preventing Bennett from serving as a TE1 on a weekly basis to close out the 2016 season. He should be in all lineups.

Patriots | Martellus Bennett misses practice

Wed, 30 Nov 2016 17:14:32 -0800

New England Patriots TE Martellus Bennett (ankle, shoulder) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Nov. 30.

Fantasy Tip: Bennett probably is taking things slow this week, but owners should check on the status later in the week. Bennett has struggled over the last few weeks and will face a Los Angeles Rams defense that plays well against tight ends. Owners may want to look for other options to use and keep Bennett on the bench this week.

Patriots | Martellus Bennett quiet again

Sun, 27 Nov 2016 22:56:01 -0800

New England Patriots TE Martellus Bennett posted three receptions for 22 yards in the Week 12 game against the New York Jets. He was targeted five times.

Fantasy Tip: Bennett's stat line was disappointing for the second straight game, especially after Rob Gronkowski left the game early and Bennett had all the targets at tight end to himself. He remains more of a TE2 heading into Week 13 against the Rams.

Sun, 27 Nov 2016 12:22:45 -0800

New England Patriots TE Martellus Bennett (ankle) is officially active for the team's Week 12 game.

Fantasy Tip: Bennett may lose a few targets with Rob Gronkowski back in the lineup but should continue to be a solid part of the passing game. Bennett has been quiet over the last few weeks but should be considered a low-end No. 1 tight end in most leagues.

Sun, 27 Nov 2016 06:45:22 -0800
