Updating previous reports, Washington Redskins LB London Fletcher technically signed a five-year contract but it will expire after two seasons. He is scheduled to make $10.75 million over the first two seasons with $5.25 million in guaranteed money. The contract is for five years so the team could receive some salary cap relief.

Washington Redskins general manager Bruce Allen said Saturday, March 10, that the team is still hopeful of retaining impending free-agent LB London Fletcher. "I'm not going to hid behind the fact we love London," Allen said. "We hope he's a Redskin." Fletcher will become an unrestricted free agent March 13 unless he is re-signed. Allen said he and Fletcher's representatives have held discussions over the past month or two.
