The Chicago Cubs placed RP Hector Rondon on the paternity list Friday, May 30, and activated RP Pedro Strop (groin) from the disabled list in a corresponding move.
Fantasy Tip: Rondon will miss a few days at minimum, so prepare for his absence. Considering Strop just returned, it remains to be seen if they'll trust him in a save situation right away with Rondon out. Your best bet for grabbing a cheap save over the next few days is with Neil Ramirez.

Chicago Cubs RP Pedro Strop (groin) is dealing with a right groin strain and could miss up to three to four weeks.
Fantasy Tip: Strop can be dropped in most mixed leagues at this point since he'll surely be out past the minimum 15 days on the DL, and he wasn't in the position to receive save chances anyway.

Chicago Cubs RP Pedro Strop (groin) will undergo an MRI exam on his groin Wednesday, May 7, after leaving the game early Tuesday, May 6. "I've been dealing with my groin since five days ago," Strop said after the Cubs 5-1 loss. "Some soreness and stuff. It's been five days and it's still bothering me bad." He said he couldn't throw his slider Tuesday due to the pain and tried to "get away with throwing my sinker." Strop allowed three runs and three hits while walking one in one-third of an inning.
Fantasy Tip: This sounds as if he has a very realistic chance of going on the disabled list. It may give incumbent ninth-inning man Hector Rondon some more rope in the role, but Wesley Wright and others are lurking if Rondon struggles.

Chicago Cubs RP Jose Veras (oblique) is scheduled to start his rehab assignment with Double-A Tennessee very soon, but it's unknown if he'll return as the team's closer when he's ready. RP Hector Rondon has emerged as a closer candidate with Veras out, and the other options are RPs Pedro Strop and Justin Grimm.
Fantasy Tip: Veras doesn't belong on a mixed league roster right now unless you're using him up in a DL spot. When he's ready to return, he'll probably have to prove that he deserves a shot in the ninth inning again and by then, one of the other relievers on roster may have staked a claim.
