NFL | Ray Rice still wants to play

Wed, 20 Jan 2016 11:53:56 -0800

Free-agent RB Ray Rice (Ravens) said he's still hopeful that he'll be given another shot to play in the NFL.

Fantasy Tip: Rice hasn't played since the end of the 2013 regular season, so there would be obvious rust concerns. But it remains to be seen if an NFL organization will even grant him a second chance in the league. He's unlikely to be anything more than a late-round flier in fantasy drafts if he does eventually sign with a team.

Texans | Ray Rice may not be option for Houston

Thu, 13 Aug 2015 10:30:38 -0700

Free-agent RB Ray Rice (Ravens) may not be an option for the Houston Texans because owner Bob McNair said he does not know if Rice is better than the running backs currently on the roster. McNair said he would talk with the players before he would consider pursing Rice.

Fantasy Tip: Rice will need the right situation before he can sign with a team, so owners could avoid him for the time being. Alfred Blue and Chris Polk likely will see extra playing time with Arian Foster sidelined and could be middle- to late-round options depending on their roles.

Browns | CLE interested in Ray Rice

Tue, 11 Aug 2015 14:40:51 -0700

Free-agent RB Ray Rice (Ravens) has drawn interest from the Cleveland Browns. Head coach Mike Pettine said there have been discussions about signing Rice.

Fantasy Tip: The Browns backfield is crowded enough as it is with Isaiah Crowell, Duke Johnson and Terrance West. Cleveland's impatience may be growing with how long it's taking for their current running backs to get healthy. This situation will need to be monitored as preseason commences.
