A trade involving Jenkins could be difficult because the team will be looking for significant compensation in return and Jenkins likely would look to get a new deal from his new team.

The Dallas Cowboys begin organized team activities Tuesday, May 22, and the team is hopeful CB Mike Jenkins (shoulder) attends. "We're certainly hopeful of that," head coach Jason Garrett said. Jenkins has been rehabbing from right shoulder surgery at his home in Florida. The front office has questioned Jenkins' absence, saying he needs to return to work. Jenkins is not expected to be healthy enough to practice until training camp, but the Cowboys would rather he rehab at their facility.

"Jenkins is not only this year, but a long-term player here as far as I'm concerned. I think we've got the resources to have three top corners, and Orlando Scandrick, which in my mind would be a fourth corner," Jones said.

Dallas Cowboys CB Mike Jenkins (shoulder) has not participated in the team's offseason conditioning program, instead choosing to rehab his shoulder injury, which required arthroscopic surgery after the season in Florida. Jenkins is not expected to participate in the four weeks of OTA practices over the next month but should be ready for the start of training camp.
