The Cleveland Browns placed TE E. Alex Smith (shoulder) and LB Titus Brown (knee) on the Injured Reserve Tuesday, Dec. 20. Smith will not need surgery for a "significant" shoulder injury. Brown will undergo surgery on his knee. The team signed free-agent TE Dan Gronkowski (Patriots) and promoted LB Brian Smith to the active roster.
