Atlanta Falcons TE Jacob Tamme (shoulder) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Monday, Nov. 21.
Fantasy Tip: Rookie Austin Hooper will assume the starting duties at tight end going forward. He has shown glimpses of being successful in the NFL and is worth a pickup, particularly in deeper leagues.
Fri, 18 Nov 2016 07:10:13 -0800
Updating previous reports, Atlanta Falcons TE Jacob Tamme (shoulder) had season-ending surgery on his shoulder Thursday, Nov. 17.
Tue, 15 Nov 2016 20:22:19 -0800
Atlanta Falcons TE Jacob Tamme (shoulder) is expected to undergo season-ending shoulder surgery this week. As previously reported, Tamme to set to get a second opinion on his shoulder, but it's "highly likely" he'll need the surgery, according to ESPN's Vaughn McClure.
Fantasy Tip: Tamme was an afterthought in Atlanta's offense. If for some reason you've been holding onto Tamme go ahead and drop him.
Mon, 14 Nov 2016 12:08:03 -0800
Atlanta Falcons TE Jacob Tamme (shoulder) will seek a second opinion on his ailing shoulder, according to head coach Dan Quinn.
Fantasy Tip: Tamme has failed to surpass 20 receiving yards since Week 3 and doesn't typically score enough touchdowns to even be considered a matchup-based play. Leave him on waivers.
Sun, 13 Nov 2016 08:36:55 -0800
The Atlanta Falcons have declared DL Cliff Matthews, CB Desmond Trufant, TE Jacob Tamme, S Sharrod Neasman, RB Stevan Ridley, RB Tevin Coleman, OG Wes Schweitzer inactive for Week 10.
Fri, 11 Nov 2016 11:58:39 -0800
Atlanta Falcons TE Jacob Tamme (shoulder) will sit out for a second consecutive game in Week 10 against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Fantasy Tip: Tamme hasn't topped 20 receiving yards since Week 3, so his fast start to the season is quickly becoming a distant memory. While Austin Hooper and Levine Toilolo have taken turns being relevant in fantasy lately, both can be ignored this week as the Eagles are one of the best defenses against tight ends.
Thu, 10 Nov 2016 10:29:22 -0800
Atlanta Falcons TE Jacob Tamme (shoulder) will not participate in practice Thursday, Nov. 10, according to head coach Dan Quinn. Quinn said Tamme probably will not be able to play in Week 10.
Fantasy Tip: Tamme probably will miss a second straight game unless he makes good progress over the next few days. Austin Hooper and Levine Toilolo likely will share playing time at tight end, but neither player should be a starting option in leagues.
Wed, 09 Nov 2016 13:42:35 -0800
Atlanta Falcons TE Jacob Tamme (shoulder) did not practice Wednesday, Nov. 9.
Fantasy Tip: Austin Hooper has filled in nicely for Tamme while Tamme has been sidelined. The Falcons have no reason to rush Tamme back while Hooper is playing well. With that said, the Philadelphia Eagles have been elite versus tight ends this year, putting Hooper outside of TE1 territory.
Mon, 07 Nov 2016 10:23:15 -0800
Atlanta Falcons TE Jacob Tamme (shoulder) was unable to participate in practice Monday, Nov. 7.
Fantasy Tip: While head coach Dan Quinn told reporters he did not believe the injury was serious when it happened, Tamme sat out Week 9 and is obviously starting this week on the wrong foot. Regardless, the veteran tight and hasn't been of much use in fantasy since Week 2, so he can be left on waivers in most leagues.
Thu, 03 Nov 2016 15:47:39 -0700
The Atlanta Falcons have declared CB C.J. Goodwin, LB Dwight Freeney, TE Jacob Tamme, DL Ra'Shede Hageman, S Sharrod Neasman, RB Tevin Coleman, OG Wes Schweitzer inactive for Week 9.

Mon, 31 Oct 2016 15:27:10 -0700
Atlanta Falcons TE Jacob Tamme (shoulder) will not play Thursday, Nov. 3, against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Fantasy Tip: Austin Hooper will start at tight end. The rookie had his best game of the season yesterday with Tamme injured, reeling in five catches for 41 yards. He's a sleeper option and worth a pickup for those who had planned to start Tamme.
Sun, 30 Oct 2016 21:48:09 -0700
Atlanta Falcons TE Jacob Tamme (shoulder) left the Week 8 game against the Green Bay Packers due to a shoulder injury. Head coach Dan Quinn said Sunday, Oct. 30, that he doesn't think Tamme's injury is a long term concern, but it might keep him out of the Week 9 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Thursday, Nov. 3.
Fantasy Tip: With Tamme sidelined it was Austin Hooper stepping up and filling the void. He might be worth a look as a streaming option in deeper fantasy leagues if you need a bye-week replacement.
Sun, 23 Oct 2016 22:56:32 -0700
Atlanta Falcons TE Jacob Tamme was targeted three times in the Week 7 game against the San Diego Chargers. He had just one grab, but it was good for a 17-yard touchdown.
Fantasy Tip: Tamme has scored three touchdowns over the past six games, but he has been limited to four catches and 34 yards over the past three outings. At this point he is only worth a look as a desperation bye-week replacement going forward.
Fri, 07 Oct 2016 15:15:40 -0700
Atlanta Falcons TE Jacob Tamme (hip) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 7, and is not on the injury report for Week 5.
Fantasy Tip: Tamme has slowed down a bit after playing well in the first two weeks of the season and will be facing a tough Denver Broncos defense. He could be considered a low-end No. 1 tight end in deeper leagues but could also be benched if owners have better options.
Thu, 06 Oct 2016 18:37:21 -0700
Atlanta Falcons TE Jacob Tamme (hip) was a full participant in practice Thursday, Oct. 6.
Fantasy Tip: Tamme has been quiet the last two games, and he is a desperation play against a tough Denver defense in Week 5.
Wed, 05 Oct 2016 15:24:33 -0700
Atlanta Falcons TE Jacob Tamme (hip) was limited during practice Wednesday, Oct. 5.
Fantasy Tip: Tamme has been held to only 31 yards over the last two games and has seen fewer targets during that span. He will be facing a tough Denver Broncos defense and probably will not be the best option for fantasy owners.
Sat, 24 Sep 2016 10:04:13 -0700
Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones only has 13 targets through two games this season after recording 204 last year, and offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan doesn't appear interested in changing that approach anytime soon. Six Falcons have four or more receptions through the first two games, while TE Jacob Tamme has two more catches and three more targets than Jones.
"You really hope (Jones) is one-on-one, but it's nice when he's not and he's got some bad looks, there's a lot of other opportunities out there (for the other players). … You don't have to force it into tough looks. You can go where the coverage tells you. … You might not have the same numbers for (Jones) and stuff, but I think the result ends up improving the offense," Shanahan said.
Fantasy Tip: Shanahan has a long history of feeding his top receiver, so this is quite the departure from the norm for him. As nice as he makes it sound, however, defenses are going to be content with the Falcons trying to beat them with Mohamed Sanu and Tamme as opposed to Jones, Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman. Even with a slightly reduced target share this season, Jones is still a weekly WR1.
Thu, 11 Aug 2016 16:14:43 -0700
Atlanta Falcons TE Levine Toilolo is listed as the third tight end on the team's roster, behind TEs Jacob Tamme and rookie Austin Hooper. Toilolo is competing with TEs D.J. Tialavea, Joshua Perkins and Arthur Lynch to seal up a spot on the Falcons.
Fantasy Tip: Even if he does crack the roster, he'll offer minimal value at best. Toilolo has exhibited flashes before, albeit small ones, but amongst the current group of tight ends, it would be hard to see him vault up to the starting spot again. Tamme performed well after coming over to Atlanta a year ago, so he'll be the tight end to watch in that offense.
Fri, 18 Dec 2015 11:07:37 -0800
Atlanta Falcons TE Jacob Tamme (back) practiced in full for the second straight day Friday, Dec. 18, and is probable to face the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 15.
Fantasy Tip: The Jaguars are an excellent fantasy matchup for tight ends (16.1 PPR fantasy points per game allowed), so Tamme ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) qualifies as a sleeper for daily lineups in Week 15.
Thu, 17 Dec 2015 14:37:59 -0800
Atlanta Falcons TE Jacob Tamme (back) put in a full practice Thursday, Dec. 17.
Fantasy Tip: Tamme ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) was limited yesterday, so it looks like he'll be able to play after the upgraded status today. That being said, Tamme has done next to nothing in recent weeks, but he does have a tremendously favorable matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He's not the worst option at tight end this week.
Wed, 16 Dec 2015 14:29:48 -0800
Atlanta Falcons TE Jacob Tamme (back) was limited in practice Wednesday, Dec. 16.
Fantasy Tip: Tamme ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) has exactly 26 yards receiving in each of the last two weeks, leaving much to be desired. The Jacksonville Jaguars are a top-five doormat for tight ends in fantasy this year, though, so look to him as an under-the-radar play if you're looking to go cheap at the position.
Fri, 11 Dec 2015 10:56:34 -0800
Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones (knee) and TE Jacob Tamme (shoulder) both practiced in full Friday, Dec. 11, and are probable to face the Carolina Panthers in Week 14.
Fantasy Tip: Jones ($8,400, 16.8% of cap) is a bust candidate in daily games while going up against shutdown corner Josh Norman. Tamme ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) is a midrange tight end pick on FantasyScore against a top defensive unit.
Thu, 10 Dec 2015 13:29:42 -0800
Atlanta Falcons TE Jacob Tamme (shoulder) and PK Matt Bryant (quadriceps) were limited in practice Thursday, Dec.10.
Fantasy Tip: Tamme (4,600, 9.2% of cap) should still play but he doesn't have the most favorable matchup against the Carolina Panthers. Bryant has not been available the last two games, so you may want to consider another kicker in seasonal leagues.
Wed, 09 Dec 2015 16:39:38 -0800
Atlanta Falcons TE Jacob Tamme (shoulder) and PK Matt Bryant (quadriceps) were both limited in practice Wednesday, Dec. 9.
Fantasy Tip: Tamme ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) should be available to play against the Carolina Panthers this weekend, but the matchup suggests you should look elsewhere for your tight end. Bryant has missed the last two games and should be left to the waiver wire in traditional leagues.
Sun, 01 Nov 2015 16:25:44 -0800
Atlanta Falcons TE Jacob Tamme had 10 catches for 103 yards and a touchdown in a 23-20 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 8.
Fantasy Tip: Tamme ($2,900, 5.8% of cap) topped 100 yards and scored a touchdown for the first time this year, and he has been more involved in the offense recently, logging at least five targets in four straight games. He is worth keeping an eye on to see if he can build on his big Week 8 performance.
Sun, 11 Oct 2015 20:08:21 -0700
Atlanta Falcons TE Jacob Tamme had eight receptions for a game-high 94 yards in the Week 5 game against the Washington Redskins. He was targeted 10 times.
Fantasy Tip: The Falcons saw something they liked about Washington's coverage on tight ends, as they worked all game to exploit that. It won't be often Tamme ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) outgains Julio Jones. Still, if he and Matt Ryan continue to click he could be a solid low-end FantasyScore option going forward.
Fri, 09 Oct 2015 14:57:43 -0700
Atlanta Falcons TE Jacob Tamme (concussion) fully participated in practice Friday, Oct. 9, and is listed as probable for the Week 5 game against the Washington Redskins.
Fantasy Tip: Tamme ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) should be back in the lineup after a one-game absence. It is not known if he will see limited time because of the concussion, but he is not a great option even if he sees his regular workload.
Thu, 08 Oct 2015 13:23:35 -0700
Atlanta Falcons TE Jacob Tamme (concussion) fully participated in practice Thursday, Oct. 8.
Fantasy Tip: Tamme ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) is returning from a concussion but appears to have a good chance to play against the Washington Redskins in Week 5. Tamme could see some targets if he plays but is not a great fantasy option.
Wed, 07 Oct 2015 14:32:24 -0700
Atlanta Falcons TE Jacob Tamme (concussion) was a full participant in practice Wednesday, Oct. 7.
Fantasy Tip: Tamme ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) has been fairly quiet so far this season. He's not a consistent target, but there is upside in a high-octane offense.
Sun, 04 Oct 2015 08:35:09 -0700
The Atlanta Falcons have declared WR Devin Hester, C Gino Gradkowski, TE Jacob Tamme, OT Jake Long, WR Justin Hardy, CB Ricardo Allen, RB Tevin Coleman inactive for Week 4.
Fri, 02 Oct 2015 10:59:07 -0700
Atlanta Falcons RB Tevin Coleman (ribs) and TE Jacob Tamme (concussion) have been ruled out for Week 4 against the Houston Texans.
Fantasy Tip: Make sure not to put either in your daily lineups this weekend. Devonta Freeman ($6,500, 13.0% of cap) blew up last weekend with three scores and will start again, but he's also dealing with an injury and is unlikely to receive as many touches. He'll be a solid daily pick on FantasyScore, but be careful not to overvalue him coming off a monster performance.
Thu, 01 Oct 2015 13:39:49 -0700
Atlanta Falcons TE Jacob Tamme (concussion) did not practice Thursday, Oct. 1.
Fantasy Tip: Tamme has a good chance of missing Week 4, in which case Levine Toilolo would take over at tight end. While cheaply priced, Toiliolo ($1,700, 3.4% of cap) is a risky play on FantasyScore.
Wed, 30 Sep 2015 15:01:26 -0700
Atlanta Falcons TE Jacob Tamme (concussion) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Sept. 30.
Fantasy Tip: Tamme ($2,600, 5.2% of cap) will have to pass all of his concussion tests before being cleared to play against the Houston Texans in Week 4, which makes him a risky option. Owners should look for other options to use at tight end.
Mon, 28 Sep 2015 11:55:20 -0700
Atlanta Falcons TE Jacob Tamme (concussion) is currently going through the concussion protocol after he suffered the injury in Week 3.
Fantasy Tip: Tamme will have to pass all of the concussion tests before he is allowed to return to the field, so owners will need to keep an eye out on his practice participation during the week. Tamme has had a solid role in the passing game this season, but owners should have a backup plan ready.
Sun, 27 Sep 2015 11:28:32 -0700
Atlanta Falcons TE Jacob Tamme (head) left the Week 3 game early and is being evaluated for a head injury.
Fantasy Tip: Tamme has been a solid addition to the team's passing game, so owners will need to keep an eye on the situation. Tamme could be questionable for Week 4 if he is dealing with a concussion.
Thu, 03 Sep 2015 16:32:59 -0700
Atlanta Falcons TE Jacob Tamme (back) suffered a back injury during the final preseason game Thursday, Sept. 3, and is considered questionable to return.
Fantasy Tip: Tamme likely will sit out the rest of the game because he should be the starting tight end this season. Tamme will be part of one of the better passing games in the NFL and could be a No. 2 fantasy tight end for teams.
Fri, 24 Jul 2015 15:39:36 -0700
Atlanta Falcons TE Jacob Tamme could be the best tight end the Falcons have had since TE Tony Gonzalez retired, according to Vaugh McClure of ESPN.com.
Fantasy Tip: Tamme is certainly an upgrade from Levine Toilolo, at least from a receiving standpoint. Tamme will be sharing time with Tony Moeaki, but Tamme will be the Falcons' primary pass-catching tight end. He still shouldn't be seen as more than a TE2, however.
Wed, 17 Jun 2015 09:31:59 -0700
Atlanta Falcons TE Jacob Tamme appears to be the leading candidate for the starting tight end job but is being pushed by TEs Tony Moeaki and Levine Toilolo. Head coach Dan Quinn indicated Toilolo could be used more as a blocker this season.
Fantasy Tip: Tamme has experience as a receiving tight end, so he probably will enter training camp as the starter. Tamme could be a No. 2 tight end on fantasy teams if he is able to win the job.
Wed, 03 Jun 2015 18:32:33 -0700
Atlanta Falcons TE Jacob Tamme has been a standout during the early going of organized team activities.
Fantasy Tip: Tamme has an excellent shot at winning the starting job in the Falcons' offense, over the likes of Levine Toilolo and Tony Moeaki. Tamme caught 52 passes for 555 yards as a member of the Denver Broncos in 2012, marking just the second time he eclipsed 200 yards receiving in a season. Tamme could be a safety net for Matt Ryan in the Falcons' offense, with Julio Jones and Roddy White representing the deep threats.

Updating previous reports, Atlanta Falcons TE Jacob Tamme has base salaries of $1 million and $1.1 million.

Free-agent TE Jacob Tamme (Broncos) signed an undisclosed deal with the Atlanta Falcons Thursday, March 19.
Wed, 18 Mar 2015 19:13:44 -0700
Free-agent TE Jacob Tamme (Broncos) visited with the Atlanta Falcons Wednesday, March 18, according to a league source. He is seeking a greater offensive role.
Fantasy Tip: The Broncos have offered him a deal, but he would be behind new signee Owen Daniels on the depth chart in Denver. The team also paid big money to blocking tight end Virgil Green, so Atlanta might be a better fit for what he is seeking.
Wed, 18 Mar 2015 19:12:20 -0700
The Denver Broncos made an offer to free-agent TE Jacob Tamme Wednesday, March 18, according to a league source. However, the length and amount of the offer is undisclosed. Tamme is seeking a bigger role in the offense, and received the offer while visiting the Atlanta Falcons.
Fantasy Tip: Tamme might see a bigger role in the offense in Atlanta, as Owen Daniels signed a big contract with Denver, and the team also re-signed blocking tight end Virgil Green.
Mon, 23 Feb 2015 15:20:17 -0800
Denver Broncos impending free-agent LB Nate Irving, C Will Montgomery and TEs Virgil Green and Jacob Tamme are priorities to be re-signed this offseason. However, Irving figures to test the free-agent market with LBs Danny Trevathan and Brandon Marshall set as inside linebackers. Green could take on a much bigger role if TE Julius Thomas leaves via free agency.
Fri, 26 Dec 2014 15:41:04 -0800
Denver Broncos LB Brandon M. Marshall (foot) has been ruled out for Week 17 against the Oakland Raiders. OT Paul Cornick (toe) and S T.J.
