Denver Broncos TE Jacob Tamme said he is happy that the team added WR Wes Welker this offseason and is not worried about how his production could be affected. "People ask me, 'Is it going to affect you?' All that sort of stuff," Tamme said. "I never really worried much about all that. Wes is awesome. It's great to have him here. It's been great to get to know him the past few days. He's going to be a great addition to our team. We have a lot of guys that can do a lot of different things. I'm going to do whatever they ask me to do."

Denver Broncos TE Jacob Tamme and C J.D. Walton will receive increased 2013 base salaries because of incentives in their contracts. Tamme's salary will go from $2.5 million to $2.625 million while Walton's salary will go from $630,000 to $1.323 million.

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning credits TE Jacob Tamme for much of the offense's success this season. Tamme's ability to play both tight end and slot receiver makes him a matchup problem for opposing defenses. "So much for us, in what we do, is how do they play Tamme," Manning said. "Some teams treat him like a receiver and some teams treat him like a tight end, so you kind of find that out, see how they handle him in the formation. He kind of makes them, the way he plays and how he plays, have that discussion and we see where that takes us."

Denver Broncos TE Jacob Tamme was used in the slot, catching nine passes for 89 yards in Week 13 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, as WR Brandon Stokley (hip) was inactive.

Denver Broncos tight ends have caught 64 passes this season, already more than in any season since 2008. TE Jacob Tamme has 34 receptions for 312 yards and a touchdown, while TE Joel Dreessen has 27 catches for 250 and four touchdowns. Tamme and Dreessen both run well, allowing either to also set up as a slot receiver, or even occasionally as a wideout. "Dreessen and Tamme can play (multiple positions), and that's a big part of our offense," QB Peyton Manning said. "In certain progressions, those guys are the first read. Coach (Mike) McCoy's done a good job of utilizing those guys, trying to get those guys in (favorable) matchups. Mike tries to move those guys around."

Denver Broncos TE Jacob Tamme managed just one grab for six yards in Week 10 against the Carolina Panthers, and TE Joel Dreessen was good for two catches and 31 yards.
