Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson (hip) underwent hip surgery this offseason and is expected to be sidelined for six to eight weeks.
Fantasy Tip: Nelson probably will miss some offseason workouts but should be fine for training camp. Nelson ranked fourth in the league in receiving yards this past season with 1,519 yards and also recorded 13 touchdowns during the season. Nelson should be a No. 1 wide receiver for owners in drafts next season if the hip is not a factor.
Sun, 11 Jan 2015 13:57:15 -0800
Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson finished with just two catches on five targets for 22 yards in a 26-21 win over the Dallas Cowboys in the divisional round of the playoffs Sunday, Jan. 11.
Fantasy Tip: The Cowboys seemed determined to prevent Nelson from beating them down the field, and as a result, Davante Adams and Randall Cobb were both targeted 11 times. Nelson remains a big-play threat, but he could be in for another tough outing next week with the Packers set to face the stingy secondary of the Seattle Seahawks.
Sat, 03 Jan 2015 09:03:13 -0800
Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson (personal) is not participating in practice Saturday, Jan. 3.
Fantasy Tip: Nelson should be able to practice next week and play in the Divisional Round playoff game. Nelson should be a solid starting option next week as long as Aaron Rodgers is able to play.
Fri, 02 Jan 2015 13:13:19 -0800
Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson was excused from practice for personal reasons Friday, Jan. 2.
Fantasy Tip: Nelson is fully healthy, and he'll be ready for the team's divisional round playoff game next weekend. Despite the fact that we don't know Green Bay's opponent yet, rest assured that Nelson will be a strong FantasyScore roster candidate next Sunday.
Mon, 29 Dec 2014 19:20:45 -0800
Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson had seven touchdown catches of at least 40 yards this season, including four of at least 60 yards.
Fantasy Tip: His ability to produce big plays makes him the type of high-upside fantasy option that can help separate you from the competition at FantasyScore.
Mon, 15 Dec 2014 14:54:08 -0800
The Green Bay Packers were beaten by the Buffalo Bills in Week 15, and the Bills excelled by playing physical with the Packers receivers and disrupting the routes of WRs Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb and Davante Adams. The Bills had just one sack on Packers QB Aaron Rodgers and three hits, but the lack of blitzing allowed Buffalo's corners to play more aggressively on the outside. "They were physical outside with our receivers and were able to get away with it all day," Rodgers said. "We had some chances, missed on them."
Fantasy Tip: Rodgers' dud likely cost many a chance at a fantasyfootball title. If you're playing at FantasyScore, though, he has an excellent chance to bounce back and get you a win in Week 16 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and their poor defense.
Sun, 09 Nov 2014 21:27:05 -0800
Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson had six catches for 152 yards and two touchdowns in the team's 55-14 victory over the Chicago Bears Sunday, Nov. 9.
Fantasy Tip: Nelson has been one of the most reliable receivers this season, and he has now caught at least one touchdown in five of his last six games.
Sun, 19 Oct 2014 10:15:43 -0700
Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson caught a 59-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter of the team's Week 7 game.
Fantasy Tip: Nelson has had a terrific season so far and should continue to be a weekly starting option as long as he is healthy.
Fri, 03 Oct 2014 10:13:50 -0700
Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson entered the Week 5 game leading the NFL in catches and receiving yards, but he had only two catches (one for a 66-yard touchdown) against the Minnesota Vikings Thursday, Oct. 2.
Fantasy Tip: The Packers weren't forced to throw much after building a big lead early against the Vikings. Despite the relatively quiet night for Nelson, he should continue to be a strong play on a weekly basis, especially in PPR leagues like FantasyScore.
Sat, 27 Sep 2014 20:56:38 -0700
Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson's 12.3 targets per game are the most in the NFL after three weeks, and WR Randall Cobb ranks second on the team with 7.0 targets per game.
Fantasy Tip: Cobb has padded his point total this season by catching three touchdowns, but Nelson is clearly Aaron Rodgers' go-to weapon right now. Cobb will cost $7,4000 (14.8% of cap) at FantasyScore in Week 4 and Nelson will cost $8,300 (16.6% of cap), but Nelson could be worth the extra cost because of the hefty amount of targets he has been seeing.
Fri, 26 Sep 2014 18:09:58 -0700
Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson will be facing the Chicago Bears in Week 4. In last season's regular season finale against Chicago, Nelson went for 10 receptions and 161 yards, and he has at least four receptions and 67 yards in the past four meetings with the Bears.
Fantasy Tip: One thing that stands out for fantasy owners, Nelson has found the end zone just twice in nine meetings with the Bears, and that happened in the same game in Week 16 of the 2011 season. Due to his lack of career touchdowns against Chicago, he might be considered a little overpriced at $8300 in FantasyScore (or 16.6 percent of the salary cap).
Tue, 16 Sep 2014 15:14:10 -0700
Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers has targeted WR Jordy Nelson 30 times in two games so far this year. Rodgers has never targeted one of his wideouts more than 8.3 times per game in a season.
Fantasy Tip: That is an unusually high number of targets in two weeks, and it'll likely come down, but it's another reminder of how valuable Nelson is in PPR leagues. He'll cost $7,800 at FantasyScore this week, but he could be worth the high cost against the Detroit Lions.
Sun, 14 Sep 2014 17:04:59 -0700
Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson hauled in nine passes for 209 yards and an 80-yard touchdown in the Week 2 win against the New York Jets.
Fri, 05 Sep 2014 06:24:32 -0700
Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson had nine catches for 83 yards and was targeted 14 times in Week 1.
Fantasy Tip: Nelson posted a solid 17.3 points in Week 1 on FantasyScore. The Packers had him flanked out left with Randall Cobb in the slot a lot. Jarrett Boykin was not thrown to as he was split out right and drew Richard Sherman most of the night. They'll have easier assignments next week against the New York Jets.

Tue, 12 Aug 2014 17:05:44 -0700
Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson (hamstring) returned to the practice field Tuesday, Aug. 12, after missing time due to a hamstring injury.
Fantasy Tip: As long as Nelson does not have any setbacks for the remainder of training camp and the preseason, he is a solid WR1 in most fantasy formats.
Mon, 11 Aug 2014 12:22:00 -0700
Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson (hamstring) is day-to-day as he rests a hamstring injury. Head coach Mike McCarthy doesn't expect Nelson to be out long.
Fantasy Tip: There's nothing really to worry about here. Nelson will be rested until he's good to go. He's still a WR1 option in all scoring formats.
Sat, 09 Aug 2014 15:52:51 -0700
Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers, RB Eddie Lacy and WR Jordy Nelson will not play in the first preseason game Saturday, Aug. 9.
Fantasy Tip: Nothing to worry about here as it is just typical preseason rest.
Sat, 26 Jul 2014 10:26:40 -0700
Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson signed a four-year, $39 million extension with $14.2 million guaranteed, according to a source.
Fantasy Tip: Nelson is a top-tier fantasy wide receiver when he and QB Aaron Rodgers are healthy. Not that he needed it, but the extension should give him more incentive to produce this year. Draft him comfortably as a WR1 in all scoring formats.
Thu, 24 Jul 2014 17:14:38 -0700

Green Bay Packers TE Jermichael Finley (toe) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Sept. 11. Head coach Mike McCarthy said he is not sure if Finley will be able to practice Thursday, Sept. 12.
Fantasy Tip: It appears there is a chance that Finley may not be able to play Week 2 because of his toe injury. If he is not able to play, Randall Cobb, Jordy Nelson and James Jones could see a bump on their fantasy values because they would receive more targets in the passing game.
Tue, 03 Sep 2013 17:05:03 -0700
Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson (knee) returned to practice Monday, Sept. 2, and a league source said Tuesday, Sept. 3, that Nelson will be available for the Week 1 game against the San Francisco 49ers.
Fantasy Tip: Cautious fantasy owners might still want to keep him reserved just to make sure he makes it through a full game without any setbacks. Plus, the San Francisco defense can be stout, and it isn't exactly a prime matchup you'd be missing out on.
Mon, 26 Aug 2013 21:10:13 -0700
Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson (knee) worked on the offensive scout team with QB Aaron Rodgers in practice Monday, Aug. 26, and hauled in an 85-yard touchdown pass. He reportedly looks unencumbered while running, and Rodgers said Nelson is a "fast healer."
Fantasy Tip: Nelson is looking like a good bet to be ready for the regular season opener against the San Francisco 49ers, but fantasy owners should still have alternate plans at the ready just in case he suffers a setback between now and then.

Fantasy Tip: It would be wise to have a contingency plan for your Week 1 lineup. His comments weren't very decisize, but it sounds like he's not optimistic about being ready.
Mon, 19 Aug 2013 21:21:25 -0700

Sat, 17 Aug 2013 19:37:45 -0700
Green Bay Packers WRs Randall Cobb (biceps) and Jordy Nelson (knee) were each inactive for the preseason game against the St. Louis Rams Saturday, Aug. 17.

Doctors tried to fix a nerve issue in his knee that has bothered him since college.
Fantasy Tip: You'll have to keep tabs on Nelson's progress during the preseason, but there is a chance that he won't suit up in the season opener. It'll make drafters a little less certain on drafting him, but unless he suffers a setback, he shouldn't miss a ton of regular season time.
Tue, 06 Aug 2013 09:37:29 -0700
Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson (knee) has undergone surgery on his knee and will miss the rest of training camp, according to head coach Mike McCarthy. The club is hoping he'll be ready for the season opener, though.
Fantasy Tip: This is troubling news because he'll miss the rest of training camp and possibly won't be ready to play in Week 1. This'll drop his draft stock a bit and raise the significance of James Jones, at least early in the year until we have a clear timetable of when Nelson will be ready to go. Randall Cobb is dealing with a minor injury in camp, but his looks will go up if Nelson isn't ready in Week 1.
Tue, 23 Jul 2013 09:32:00 -0700

Mon, 22 Jul 2013 22:58:42 -0700
Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson (hamstring) was limited to 12 games in 2012 due to hamstring injuries. When he was on the field, Nelson saw his numbers dip to 15.2 yards per catch from 18.6 yards per grab in 2012. He also had just two drops out of 93 targeted passes in 2011, but he had eight drops on 71 targets in 2012.
Fantasy Tip: Nelson is still a tremendous WR2 or flex play in all fantasy leagues heading into the new season. If he can bounce back to his 2011 form, he might be quite a steal in the middle rounds on draft day.
Sat, 15 Jun 2013 09:32:03 -0700
Green Bay Packers WR James Jones said he believes he, WR Randall Cobb and WR Jordy Nelson could all post 1,000-yard seasons in 2013. Green Bay Packers WR James Jones said he likes the trio of himself, WR Jordy Nelson and WR Randall Cobb heading into the 2013 season, even if impending free-agent WR Greg Jennings signs elsewhere. "I can see me, Jordy and Randall getting about 80 catches apiece. I can see us all having over 1,000 yards," Jones said. He added it is doubtful a receiver on the team would catch 100 balls, only because QB Aaron Rodgers likes to spread the football around.
