Packers | Jordy Nelson struggled with YAC

Mon, 30 Jan 2017 17:16:57 -0800

Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson averaged 3.58 yards after the catch, which was his lowest average since his rookie season. He had either zero or minus yards after the catch on 41 of his 105 catches in 2016. He did finish with 15 touchdowns during the season.

Fantasy Tip: Nelson returned from a torn anterior cruciate ligament and was able to play in all 16 regular season games. He finished the regular season with 1,257 yards and 14 touchdowns and recorded 80 yards and one touchdown during the playoffs. Nelson should continue to be the main option in the passing game and can be a No. 1 receiver for fantasy owners in 2017.

Packers | Jordy Nelson to wear extra padding

Sun, 22 Jan 2017 08:21:07 -0800

Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson (ribs), who is expected to play in the NFC Championship game against the Atlanta Falcons Sunday, Jan. 22, ordered military-grade Kevlar padding to protect his fractured ribs, according to multiple sources.

Fantasy Tip: Nelson was a limited participant in two of the team's three practice sessions during the week and is listed as questionable on the injury report. He should be viewed as a risky WR2 option in playoff fantasy pools, assuming he is active for Sunday's contest.

Packers | Jordy Nelson likely to be cleared

Sat, 21 Jan 2017 23:04:44 -0800

Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson (ribs) is expected to be available for the NFC Championship game against the Atlanta Falcons barring any setbacks in pre-game workouts, according to a league source.

Fantasy Tip: Nelson's return should be a boost for Green Bay's passing game, though clearly there's risk in slotting him into your lineup given the chance for him to aggravate the injury. That being said, given the other receivers are dealing with leg injuries, Nelson might be the safest Packers receiver this side of Randall Cobb. If he's active he becomes a risk/reward WR2.

Fri, 20 Jan 2017 13:55:25 -0800

Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson (ribs) did not participate in practice Friday, Jan. 20, and is listed as questionable for the NFC Championship game.

Packers | Jordy Nelson does more in practice

Fri, 20 Jan 2017 08:02:48 -0800

Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson (ribs) did more in practice Thursday, Jan. 19, than the team anticipated, according to head coach Mike McCarthy.

Packers | Jordy Nelson limited again Thursday

Thu, 19 Jan 2017 16:36:46 -0800

Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson (ribs) was a limited participant in practice for the second straight day Thursday, Jan. 19.

Fantasy Tip: This type of activity means he's trending towards playing on Sunday, but it's still unknown how close to 100 percent health Nelson actually is. That being said, he looks like a very risky option right now for DFS lineups and his situation should be monitored closely up until kickoff.

Packers | Jordy Nelson to work with rehab group

Thu, 19 Jan 2017 10:38:28 -0800

Green Bay Packers WR Jordy Nelson (ribs) will be on the field with the rehab group during practice Thursday, Jan. 19, according to head coach Mike McCarthy.

Fantasy Tip: Nelson probably will be listed as limited on the injury report but is still a question mark for the NFC Championship game. Owners will need to keep an eye on the situation over the next few days to see if he makes any progress. He will be a risky option for owners and may only be a No. 3 receiver or flex option in leagues.
