And I'm talking about some of the coaches that were here. That's one of the pieces of the puzzle that's important too, is having some coaches on the staff that were here before. Because, you've heard me say this, chemistry is an important piece of it, and it is," Whisenhunt said.

Tennessee Titans QB John Skelton will serve as the team's No. 3 quarterback behind QBs Ryan Fitzpatrick and Rusty Smith. Skelton isn't expected to be active in Week 12 against the Oakland Raiders. "We thought we had a need just because of the way quarterbacks get hurt," head coach Mike Munchak said. "Rusty will go in if anything happens to Fitz, but this allows us to have somebody else here learning our offense in case we have another injury." The Titans would likely run a wildcat offense with RBs Chris Johnson and Shonn Greene taking snaps if both Fitzpatrick and Smith are injured.

Fantasy Tip: It's unclear exactly if Greene will approach 15 carries per game but regardless, it looks like the Titans plan to involve Greene much more moving forward. This is bad news for Chris Johnson owners. Greene will become more than just a handcuff to Johnson if this plan is stuck to by the Titans.

Fantasy Tip: It is a good sign that Johnson is performing well at camp because he likely will be a big part of the team's offense this season. He should be seen as a low-end No. 1 or solid No. 2 fantasy running back this season who could increase his value in point-per-reception leagues he is gets more involved in the passing game.

Tue, 30 Jul 2013 09:55:05 -0700
Tennessee Titans RB Chris Johnson figures to be busy this season, even if he loses some carries to RB Shonn Greene in short-yardage situations. "I never really get any short-yardage plays, so it doesn't really matter," Johnson said. Johnson has said his top priority of making the playoffs, and the last time the team did that, Johnson split carries with RB LenDale White. So Johnson is willing the share the load somewhat.
Fantasy Tip: Johnson remains a Top 15 fantasy back heading into the season, and he is a solid selection anywhere from the middle of the second round to early third round on draft day. He should still come close to 300 touches despite the presence of Greene.

Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Munchak praised RB Chris Johnson for his work this offseason and said he expects Johnson to have a big year in 2013.
Fantasy Tip: Johnson will look to improve on a rebound season in 2012 in which he rushed for 1,243 yards with six touchdowns. It is good news that he is having a solid offseason, and Johnson has the potential to be at least a solid No. 2 fantasy running back in 2013 if not better.
Wed, 05 Jun 2013 11:39:04 -0700
Tennessee Titans RB Chris Johnson said he believes he can rush for 2,000 yards in a season again. "I know I have another 2,000-yard season in me," Johnson said Tuesday during the interview. "I would love to get 2,000 yards again, but I haven't been to the playoffs since my rookie year. I want to get back there."
Fantasy Tip: Johnson rebounded from a subpar 2011 season with 1,243 yards and six rushing touchdowns. He will still receive a majority of the carries this season but will lose some touches to Shonn Greene near the goal line as well as other situations. Owners should view Johnson as a solid No. 2 fantasy running back that should be in the starting lineup every week.
Tue, 04 Jun 2013 16:56:11 -0700
Tennessee Titans RB Chris Johnson approves of new RB coach Sylvester Croom. Comparing Croom to Earnest Byner, who held the job during Chris Johnson's 2,006-yard season back in 2009, Johnson said "it seems like everything is going well. ... He's a pretty good coach." Johnson said Croom has tweaked a couple of Johnson's steps during running plays and routes coming out of the backfield. "That's a little minor change that I can tell is already helping me out," Johnson said. Tennessee is aiming for Johnson to log more receptions this year.
Fantasy Tip: Johnson has experienced struggles with technique and system over his Titans career, and maybe these alterations could get more productivity out of him. Though newly acquired Shonn Greene looms as a threat for carries, especially in the red zone, Johnson could in fact wind up as a solid value as a draft-day RB2 that will more than often perform as an RB1.
Thu, 21 Mar 2013 11:16:36 -0700
Tennessee Titans RB Chris Johnson indicated he does not completely understand the team's signing of RB Shonn Greene but expects to be fine with the situation. "I have never been a big fan of the two-back system, so I don't know how we plan on using him," Johnson. "I'm not afraid of competition, but I was thinking we'd maybe get a draft pick for the other back. And you don't give a guy that kind of money to be just a goal-line guy and in tough-yardage situations. So we'll see what happens."
Fantasy Tip: Johnson should still get a majority of the carries next season, but Greene could be used in situations that Johnson handled. Johnson should be considered as a starter every week while Greene should be viewed as a No. 5 running back until his role is more clearly defined.

Thu, 28 Feb 2013 04:30:14 -0800
Tennessee Titans RB Chris Johnson said he is not in favor of the team using a two-running back system in 2013. Johnson added the team has traditionally used a goal-line back in his place, but he wants to remain the primary runner. "I know I deserve them touches, but at the end of the day, they're the coaches and I gotta go with whatever they're doing. I'm a team player, and if they feel like they can help us win by putting a bigger guy in there I'm not going to pout about it," Johnson said. "But if it's a situation where it's a two-back system, I played in a two-back system in college and I don't like it because you really can't get into a groove. That's something I wouldn't be happy with."

If you're going to really run, I'm talking 30-plus times a game, there aren't many that can do that for 16 games anymore, their bodies can't take it." Croom said the team will not look to diminish Johnson's role on offense but would like another back that can do different things and fill a different role.
