Ravens | Baltimore set for committee backfield?

Wed, 24 Aug 2016 10:23:51 -0700

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett is still in line to be the starting running back, in the opinion of ESPN's Jamison Hensley, but RBs Javorius Allen and Kenneth Dixon project to share third-down work with RB Terrance West serving as a short-yardage back in the red zone.

Fantasy Tip: As an undersized journeyman, Forsett's reign atop the depth chart could be short lived, and the potential of a multi-faceted rushing attack isn't ideal for his fantasy stock. West presents nice value as a late-round flier in standard and touchdown-heavy settings, whereas Allen presents similar potential in PPR leagues. Dixon is likely the most talented back of the quartet, but expect him to have to bide his time for an opportunity in 2016. The rookie is nothing more than a stash option at this point.

Ravens | Justin Forsett looks great

Tue, 09 Aug 2016 10:31:03 -0700

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett looks like he did during his 2014 breakout campaign, according to Ravens head coach John Harbaugh. "I see the same running back we had two years ago, in terms of his speed, his explosiveness, his vision," Harbaugh said. "He really looks good. I know there's a lot of talk about the other guys, but he's playing really well."

Fantasy Tip: Can you trust the one-hit wonder at 30 years old? Forsett is a risky RB2 in PPR leagues and no better than a third in standard formats. Identifying his backup is a challenge, and the stable of backs is likely to produce someone to eat into his workload.

Ravens | Justin Forsett expects to be bell cow

Wed, 27 Jul 2016 19:01:41 -0700

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett expects to hang onto the starting job and do the bulk of the work at the running back position ahead of RBs Javorius Allen, Kenneth Dixon, Lorenzo Taliaferro and Terrance West. The team also has RB Trent Richardson (knee) competing for a roster spot. While Forsett might be optimistic, he is 31 and the team is leaning toward reducing his carries.

Fantasy Tip: The Ravens are very deep at the running back position, but Forsett plans on being the bell cow and it's hard to bet against him. However, it is a good idea to nab Buck Allen as a handcuff just to be on the safe side.

Ravens | Justin Forsett the lead back

Tue, 12 Jul 2016 14:33:36 -0700

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett is still the "clear lead dog" in the Ravens' backfield, according to Ryan Mink of baltimoreravens.com. The starting job is Forsett's to lose, with RBs Javorius Allen, Kenneth Dixon, Lorenzo Taliaferro, Terrance West and Trent Richardson lurking behind him.

Fantasy Tip: Baltimore is deep at running back, but Forsett is a proven success and should be the lead back as long as he's healthy. Allen and Dixon are probably the most likely to compete for playing time, and both are worth late-round picks in traditional fantasy leagues. Forsett has more value in PPR leagues and should be viewed as an RB3 in such formats.

Ravens | Three BAL RBs up for just one spot?

Tue, 14 Jun 2016 22:00:28 -0700

Baltimore Ravens RB Lorenzo Taliaferro might be competing with RB Terrance West and RB Trent Richardson for the No. 4 spot on the depth chart behind RBs Justin Forsett, Javorius Allen and Kenneth Dixon.

Fantasy Tip: Taliaferro could have a leg up in the competition with West and Richardson only because he is a third-year back with more knowledge of the playbook. However, whomever wins the battle for the No. 4 job still has a long way to go before having much in the way of fantasy appeal.

Ravens | Justin Forsett to have X-rays next week

Tue, 05 Apr 2016 10:01:41 -0700

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett (arm), who is already lifting weights again, plans to get X-rays next week to determine how far along he is in his recovery from a broken arm. "I'm excited to get back this season," Forsett said. "Big expectations for myself and I'm just ready to get back at it and be 100%."

Fantasy Tip: Forsett will enter 2016 as the team's primary ball carrier, but he has plenty of competition behind him in Terrance West, Javorius Allen and Lorenzo Taliaferro. Until something changes, though, view Forsett as a solid RB2 with more value in point-per-reception formats.

Ravens | Justin Forsett progressing

Sat, 02 Apr 2016 12:56:40 -0700

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett (arm) is continuing to make good progress in his recovery from a broken arm last season and has already begun lifting weights.

Fantasy Tip: Forsett will be Baltimore's primary running back again next season, assuming he is fully healthy when the regular season starts. He will also split time with Lorenzo Taliaferro, Javorius Allen and Terrance West, though, but he should still be in RB2 territory with added value in PPR leagues.

Ravens | Justin Forsett will return

Thu, 25 Feb 2016 09:38:35 -0800

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett (forearm) will remain with the Ravens in 2016, according to head coach John Harbaugh. Harbaugh also said the best running back will get the brunt of the carries.

Fantasy Tip: That means Forsett will have competition from Javorius Allen and/or a potential addition. Forsett is a risky selection this year as an RB2.

Ravens | Justin Forsett almost 100%

Thu, 28 Jan 2016 19:30:08 -0800

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett (forearm) said he should be 100% in "a couple of weeks."

Fantasy Tip: Forsett was having a mediocre 2015 season prior to breaking his arm, and with Javorius Allen showing some promise in his absence, there is a good chance a committee approach will be used in Baltimore's backfield in 2016.

Ravens | Justin Forsett to IR

Fri, 27 Nov 2015 07:22:01 -0800

Baltimore Ravens RB Justin Forsett (forearm) was placed on Injured Reserve Friday, Nov. 27. DE Brent Urban (biceps) was activated from short-term Injured Reserve.

Fantasy Tip: Javorius Allen ($6,300, 12.6% of cap) has a good matchup against the Cleveland Browns and is a flex option worth consideration on FantasyScore.
