Wed, 28 Sep 2016 13:30:25 -0700

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan (thumb) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Sept. 28.

Fantasy Tip: Ryan should be ready to play in Week 4 despite the thumb injury but will be facing a tough Carolina Panthers defense this week. He has thrown for 970 yards and seven touchdowns in the first three games and can be a starting option for owners in deeper leagues.

Falcons | Matt Ryan says thumb is fine

Tue, 27 Sep 2016 07:41:57 -0700

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan (thumb) said his injured left thumb is fine, and he put a glove on the hand in Week 3 to ensure his grip on the ball.

Fantasy Tip: The Falcons have the Carolina Panthers in Week 4, which will present a difficult matchup for Ryan. He'll be a midrange QB1 in fantasy.

Falcons | Matt Ryan tosses pair of touchdowns

Mon, 26 Sep 2016 21:21:20 -0700

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan (thumb) completed 20 of his 30 pass attempts for 240 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in the Week 3 game against the New Orleans Saints Monday, Sept. 26. He injured his thumb late in the fourth quarter and had the thumb taped while being fitted with a glove.

Fantasy Tip: Ryan has two 300-yard games under his belt this season, although he missed the mark Monday, and he has two or more touchdown passes in each of his three outings. He has re-emerged as a decent low-end TE1, and he had tremendous success despite Julio Jones not being his normal self Monday.

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan (thumb) suffered a left thumb injury in the fourth quarter of the Week 3 game against the New Orleans saints Monday, Sept. 26. He had his thumb taped up and he is wearing a left glove.

Fantasy Tip: Ryan has missed just two games in his career, and he has made 102 consecutive starts. He is durable, and fantasy owners can expect him to be ready in Week 4.

Falcons | Matty Ice busy in setback

Sun, 11 Sep 2016 20:56:37 -0700

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan completed 27 of his 39 pass attempts for 334 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in Week 1 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Fantasy Tip: Ryan always has good rapport with Julio Jones, but he also jelled rather quickly with newcomer Mohamed Sanu and he connected with Tevin Coleman out of the backfield for several big plays as well. As long as all of his weapons remain healthy, Ryan should be a borderline QB1/2 in all formats going forward.

Falcons | Matt Ryan plays one snap

Thu, 01 Sep 2016 18:26:35 -0700

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan played one snap in the preseason finale against the Jacksonville Jaguars Thursday, Sept. 1, before being replaced by QB Matt Schaub.

Fantasy Tip: Ryan finished fifth in passing yards last season, but Atlanta's inability to finish off drives resulted in his lowest touchdown total since his rookie season. He is a potential QB2 candidate, and he could still be on the board later in drafts.

Falcons | Matt Ryan worked on deep throws

Thu, 01 Sep 2016 16:32:45 -0700

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan spent six weeks training with former MLB pitcher Tom House and former college pitcher Adam Dedeaux -- who have also worked with New England Patriots QB Tom Brady, New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees and Arizona Cardinals QB Carson Palmer, to name a few with -- at the acclaimed 3DQB training facility in working to enhance his ability to throw deep. Ryan firmly believes there's a noticeable difference in his deep ball and WR Julio Jones was the first to say the quarterback's arm strength is much stronger than it was last year.

Fantasy Tip: Although Ryan finished in the top five in passing yards in 2015, he still had a disappointing season, registering his fewest touchdown passes since his rookie campaign. Many believe it had much to do with him trying to adjust to new offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan, so at least Ryan now has some more familiarity with Shanahan's offense. Once one of the league's upper echelon signal-callers, Ryan could still be one of the best value picks at quarterback with a solid cast of weapons surrounding him, including arguably the game's best receiver in Jones, and a much-improved offensive line after the addition of center Alex Mack.

Falcons | Red zone interception for Matt Ryan

Thu, 25 Aug 2016 20:31:08 -0700

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan completed 12 of his 22 passes for 129 yards and threw an interception in the red zone in a 17-6 preseason loss to the Miami Dolphins Thursday, Aug. 25.

Fantasy Tip: Ryan ranked fifth in passing yards last year, but his 21 touchdowns were his fewest since his rookie year. Converting in the red zone continues to be an issue, and while he has QB1 upside, Ryan is better served as a high-end backup.

Falcons | Matt Ryan shows improvement

Fri, 19 Aug 2016 11:00:42 -0700

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan had a much better outing in his second preseason game Thursday, August 18, versus the Cleveland Browns, after going 0-for-4 and leading two three-and-outs in the team's exhibition opener. Ryan followed that up by completing 8-of-12 passes for 78 yards over three possessions.

Fantasy Tip: In 2015, Ryan didn't live up to the higher expectations he has set for himself throughout his outstanding career, but that doesn't mean he had a bad season last year. After all, the Boston College product did finish fifth in the NFL with 4,591 passing yards, while completing 66.3% of his passes, which was good for sixth amongst league leaders. Still having Julio Jones on his side, not to mention the addition of Mohamed Sanu, Ryan still has the ability to be an upper echelon signal-caller, and could end up being one of the best values at quarterback this season.

Falcons | Matt Ryan's practice picks a non-issue

Tue, 02 Aug 2016 20:21:09 -0700

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan throwing interceptions in practice isn't a concern of head coach Dan Quinn.

"This is the time to try everything, whether is a different route or a different look," Quinn said Tuesday, Aug. 2, after Ryan threw a virtual pick-six during the team period. "It's also an important part for the defense, too, to know how they get after the ball. For us, this is what this time is all about is getting the timing down and getting the routes right. Some of that happens in our training camp practice. But for us, it's about the ball, we know that."

Fantasy Tip: Ryan's numbers slipped a bit in 2016, but the tale of the tape is pretty much on par with much of his career. He completed 66.3% of his passes for 4,591 yards and 21 touchdowns with 16 interceptions. At this point, we know what Ryan is, and that's not a top-flight fantasy quarterback. He'll be in the low-end QB1 mix.

Falcons | Mohamed Sanu bonding with QB

Wed, 13 Jul 2016 21:14:36 -0700

Atlanta Falcons WR Mohamed Sanu has bonded with QB Matt Ryan, working together at Ryan's passing camp in Orlando, and throughout June minicamp. The duo built chemistry as the practices wore on. "He's got great hands," Ryan said. "One of the things I noticed right from the start is how strong his hands are. He's a really good worker. I think he can really help us."

Fantasy Tip: Sanu will step into the role vacated by veteran Roddy White. He has never posted more than 790 receiving yards in a season, but that should change in 2016. If not, he will be a huge fantasy bust since he shouldn't slip past the middle rounds in most formats on draft day.

Falcons | Matt Ryan working on feet

Wed, 22 Jun 2016 15:09:34 -0700

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan has been working on increasing his comfort level with the offense this offseason. Ryan has worked in front of a mirror to try to get his feet in the right position to be able to throw the ball the way he wants to and to improve the timing of the play. He is able to watch his feet closely this way and can make sure everything is aligned correctly before dropping back.

Fantasy Tip: Ryan definitely struggled in Kyle Shanahan's offense last season, throwing just 21 touchdowns to 16 interceptions. He did throw for over 4,500 yards, but he's still a backup fantasy quarterback heading into 2016.

Falcons | Matt Ryan still confident in offense

Tue, 19 Apr 2016 15:42:19 -0700

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan admitted Tuesday, April 19, that he took too long at times to process offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan's scheme in 2015. Ryan said he is excited to have Shanahan back for another season. "As you're in a system more, you start focusing on the things that are important," Ryan said. "What you're going against defensively, what your keys are in protection, what you're looking for from a coverage standpoint."

Ryan also said that he thought all the players involved in a recent passing camp felt more comfortable with the offense, adding that he could tell early on that they were a lot further along than at certain points midway through last season.

Fantasy Tip: There was definitely a bit of a learning curve for Ryan and the Falcons last season, maybe save for Julio Jones, who can do anything in any offense. As for Ryan, he remains out of QB1 territory despite a season of Shanahan's offense under his belt.

Falcons | Matt Ryan throwing with teammates

Tue, 29 Mar 2016 14:07:46 -0700

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan is getting together with WR Julio Jones, RB Devonta Freeman and other Falcons for passing sessions this offseason.

Fantasy Tip: It sure doesn't hurt for teammates to practice together well before the season starts. There's no telling how offseason comradery and chemistry can impact players during the regular season. Freeman and Jones should already be considered No. 1 players at their respective positions, while Ryan is in backup fantasy quarterback territory.

NFL | Jared Goff draws Matt Ryan comparison

Wed, 02 Mar 2016 17:34:53 -0800

California QB Jared Goff is expected to be a top-five pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. Daniel Jeremiah, a NFL Media analyst and former scout, has likened the presumptive first-round pick to Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan. "They're (both) not afraid to stare down a rush and deliver the football accurately, but also have enough athleticism and the quick feet to get outside, create and make some things happen. Competitive, smart and tough. Those are the three words we described Matt Ryan with when he came out, and I would put the same three tags on Jared Goff," Jeremiah said.

Fantasy Tip: Goff could be selected as high as No. 2 overall to the Cleveland Browns barring a shakeup in the draft order. If he does land with the Browns, he would be little more than a low-end QB2 in redraft leagues with far more upside in dynasty formats.

Falcons | Matt Ryan has 300-yard game

Sun, 03 Jan 2016 15:48:16 -0800

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan was 24 of 36 for 334 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in a 20-17 loss to the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, Jan. 3.

Fantasy Tip: Ryan ended the year with 4,591 yards passing, and that is a pretty impressive number for yardage leagues. Take a closer look at his stats and you see a problem. He only threw 20 touchdowns and had 16 interceptions, so the overall numbers weren't too good. He's not in danger of losing his job, but Ryan will need a stronger overall performance in 2016.

Falcons | Matt Ryan probable for Week 17

Fri, 01 Jan 2016 12:12:22 -0800

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan (hip) was a full participant in practice Friday, Jan. 1, and is listed as probable for the Week 17 game against the New Orleans Saints.

Fantasy Tip: After a full week of practice, look for Ryan ($5,900, 11.8% of cap) to finish the season strong against the porous New Orleans defense. Still, he shouldn't be viewed as slam-dunk start at FantasyScore. Ryan has a single touchdown or fewer in six of his past seven outings, and he topped 300 yards just twice during the span. All said, the matchup and cap hit are more attractive than Ryan's current form, which is always a warning sign.

Falcons | Matt Ryan has full practice

Thu, 31 Dec 2015 12:37:51 -0800

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan (hip) fully participated in practice Thursday, Dec. 31.

Fantasy Tip: Ryan ($5,900, 11.8% of cap) is one of the most promising fantasy quarterbacks this week against the lowly New Orleans Saints. Ryan has struggled this season, but he's a good, under-the-radar choice for your FantasyScore quarterback in Week 17.

Falcons | Matt Ryan looks to finish strong

Wed, 30 Dec 2015 22:47:48 -0800

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan will face a New Orleans Saints pass defense in Week 17 which has allowed 281.1 passing yards per game with an NFL-high 43 touchdowns and 59 pass plays of 20 or more yards. The Saints have also been dinged for a league-high 16 pass plays of 40 or more yards.

Fantasy Tip: Matty Ice ($5,900, 11.8% of cap) wraps up a difficult and erratic season against the Saints in an ultra-favorable matchup. Look for Ryan to finish strong at a cut-rate FantasyScore price.

Falcons | Matt Ryan takes part in practice

Wed, 30 Dec 2015 14:43:12 -0800

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan (hip) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Dec. 30.

Fantasy Tip: Ryan ($5,900, 11.8% of cap) should be able to play this week and will have a favorable matchup against the New Orleans Saints. He has thrown four touchdowns and five interceptions in the last five games but did surpass the 300-yard mark in Week 16. Ryan could be a cheaper option for owners on FantasyScore to consider, but there will be other options more attractive for owners.

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones caught nine passes for 178 yards, including a 70-yard touchdown bomb from QB Matt Ryan, in a 20-13 win over the Carolina Panthers.

Fantasy Tip: Jones ($8,200, 16.4% of cap) should be on your FantasyScore map for week 17. He has clearly taken the number one spot in the Falcons WR lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Ryan ($5,900, 11.8% of cap) has been on and off this year, but this was a strong performance at just the right time. He is capable of strong performances in FantasyScore, so utilize him as a low-cost flyer.

Falcons | Matt Ryan thrives in Georgia Dome

Fri, 25 Dec 2015 10:14:16 -0800

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan has posted considerably better numbers throughout his career at home compared to on the road. In 60 career games at the Georgia Dome, Ryan has a 95.8 QB rating, having registered 97 touchdown passes versus just 46 interceptions while completing 66.8% of his passes. By comparison, Ryan has an 86.3 QB rating in his 64 starts away from home, completing 62.2% of passes to go with 102 touchdowns and 60 interceptions.

Fantasy Tip: Ryan ($5,900, 11.8% of cap) will be facing the undefeated Carolina Panthers for the second time in three weeks, and though the Falcons were blanked 38-0 in the first meeting, owners should expect a much better performance from Matty Ice and the offense this time around. Ryan is coming off an encouraging performance against the Jaguars and as the split stats show, he's typically more consistent at home. At his current price, he could return excellent value.

Falcons | Matt Ryan throws for 246 yards

Sun, 20 Dec 2015 14:27:11 -0800

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan went 22-for-35 for 246 yards, one touchdown and one interception against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 15.

Fantasy Tip: Ryan has struggled recently with eight interceptions in his last five games but does have six touchdowns during that span. He has not thrown for 300 yards in any of his last five games. He is facing the Carolina Panthers in Week 16 and is not a great option for owners.

Falcons | Matt Ryan has opportune matchup Sunday

Tue, 15 Dec 2015 16:03:46 -0800

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan will be facing a Jacksonville Jaguars defense in Week 15 that has allowed the seventh-most passing yards (3,621) and touchdowns (24). They also have only seven interceptions as a team, which is tied for the third-fewest in football.

Fantasy Tip: While Ryan's ($6,200, 12.4% of cap) struggles as of late are certainly a cause for concern, owners should keep in mind that all quarterbacks go through rough patches at one point or another. The Jaguars defense will provide Ryan with a desirable opportunity to break out again, and in a must-win situation for Atlanta, Matty Ice could easily reward his fantasy owners. With his price dropping this week on FantasyScore, the eight-year veteran is shaping up to be an excellent value play.

Falcons | Matty Ice lifted in blowout

Sun, 13 Dec 2015 15:45:04 -0800

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan completed 22 of 34 pass attempts for 224 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in the blowout loss in Week 14 against the Carolina Panthers. He also fumbled twice, losing one before being lifted in the second half for QB Sean Renfree.

Fantasy Tip: Ryan has struggled mightily since leading the team to a 5-0 start. He had just four interceptions in the first six games, but seven picks over the past four outings and he has no 300-yard passing games during the span. Ryan simply cannot be trusted anymore.

Falcons | Matt Ryan has struggled against Carolina

Fri, 11 Dec 2015 18:26:24 -0800

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan faces the Carolina Panthers in Week 14, and he has thrown one touchdown or less in five of his seven games against the Panthers.

Fantasy Tip: Ryan ($7,100, 14.2% of cap) has been struggling the last several weeks, throwing just one touchdown in three of his last four games. Donít expect his slump to end against a stout Carolina defense that has traditionally given him problems.

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan completed 30 of his 45 pass attempts for 269 yards, one touchdown and one interception in the Week 13 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He also ran once for four yards.

Fantasy Tip: Matty Ice has been ice cold lately, failing to post a QB rating over 100 in four straight games after hitting the mark four times in the first eight outings.

Falcons | Matt Ryan to get back on track?

Thu, 03 Dec 2015 16:40:49 -0800

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan will be taking on a Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense that has allowed the third-most passing touchdowns in football this season.

Fantasy Tip: Ryan ($7,400, 14.8% of cap) hasn't looked like himself the past couple of weeks, but has a potentially salivating matchup on tap. The Boston College product had his best game of the season against the Bucs in Week 8, when he completed 37 of 45 passes for a whopping 397 yards, to go with two touchdowns and one interception. As a result, owners could be getting a very nice value this week from one of the game's true upper echelon quarterbacks.

Mon, 30 Nov 2015 07:39:49 -0800

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan has a league-leading four interceptions in the red zone, according to ESPN Stats and Information. He had none in the red zone last year.

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan went 22-for-31 for 230 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in the team's Week 12 game against the Minnesota Vikings.

Fantasy Tip: Ryan has thrown eight interception in his last five games with five of them coming in the last two games. He has thrown at least one home run in each of his last six games but the interceptions hurt his value. Ryan will be facing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the next game and may not be the best option for owners.

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan threw three touchdowns and passed for 280 yards Sunday, Nov. 22, in a 24-21 loss to the Indianapolis Colts. He also threw three interceptions.

Fantasy Tip: Ryan ($7,500, 15.0% of cap) has had some horrible luck the past few weeks as Atlanta has fallen into a slump. The yardage numbers are good, but three interceptions will kill you in any fantasy league. At this price Ryan is overvalued.

Falcons | Leonard Hankerson praised by QB

Wed, 18 Nov 2015 22:07:46 -0800

Atlanta Falcons WR Leonard Hankerson (hamstring) returned to the practice on a limited basis Wednesday, Nov. 18, and QB Matt Ryan was very glad to have one of his weapons back. "Hank has had a great year for us when he's been able to go," Ryan said, "and I think having him back opens up a lot of things for everybody. It makes us a better offense."

Fantasy Tip: Hankerson ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) should be avoided in FantasyScore as a WR3 or flex play until he can officially return to game action and make it through a full outing without any lingering effects of his injury.

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan thinks being more consistent with his footwork, specifically, will help lessen the inaccurate throws he's been making. Ryan added that he feels good and that health isn't a reason for his struggles.

Fantasy Tip: Ryan ($7,500, 15.0% of cap) is still having a decent season, averaging 286 yards per game and throwing nine touchdowns to six interceptions. More is expected of Ryan, however. This week he'll face one of the worst fantasy defenses against quarterbacks in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Falcons | Matt Ryan says he's healthy

Tue, 27 Oct 2015 11:10:41 -0700

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan said he's completely healthy and is feeling fine physically despite throwing four interceptions and losing two fumbles in the last three games. Ryan posted quarterback ratings of just 55.1 and 64.7 against the Washington Redskins and Tennessee Titans, and he completed three of nine passes for 18 yards in the red zone in those games. He said his recent off-target throws aren't because of arm soreness, and Ryan hopes to improve his footwork. He has 2,002 passing yards in seven games for nine touchdowns and six interceptions while being sacked 14 times. Ryan ranks 17th among the top 25 quarterbacks with a passer rating of 88.9.

Fantasy Tip: Ryan ($7,500, 15.0% of cap) definitely has been up and down so far this year, but he is in one of the most efficient overall offenses in the game that also possesses the leading rusher in Devonta Freeman and one of the best overall wideouts in Julio Jones. Ryan will have his big games, and another could easily come against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 8. They allow 24.4 fantasy points per game to QBs (fourth-most in the NFL).

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan completed 24 of his 42 pass attempts for 254 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions in the Week 5 game against the Washington Redskins. He also ran three times for 20 yards.

Fantasy Tip: Ryan ($7,800, 15.6% of cap) entered with six touchdowns and just two interceptions, and none since Week 1. He is still a dependable FantasyScore option going forward despite laying an egg in this one. Plus, he has at least 254 passing yards in each of his five outings.

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan is at home against the Houston Texans in Week 4, and he has averaged 330.75 passing yards and two touchdowns in his last four homes games against AFC teams.

Fantasy Tip: Ryan ($7,800, 15.6% of cap) is off to a strong start in 2015, and he and his top target, Julio Jones ($8,900, 17.8% of cap), should both be solid plays at FantasyScore against Houston.

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan completed 24 of his 36 passes for 285 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in the Week 3 game against the Dallas Cowboys. He also ran twice for 17 yards.

Fantasy Tip: Ryan ($7,800, 15.6% of cap) is a stud FantasyScore option as long as he has a guy like Julio Jones ($8,400, 16.8% of cap) healthy and at the other end of his passes.

Falcons | Matt Ryan throws for 363 yards

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan completed 30 of 46 pass attempts for 363 yards and a touchdown in a 24-20 win over the New York Giants in Week 2.

Fantasy Tip: With running back Tevin Coleman ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) leaving early, the Falcons leaned heavily on the passing game. Ryan ($7,800, 15.6% of cap) should post another solid line in Week 3 when the Falcons face the Dallas Cowboys.

Falcons | Matt Ryan has done well vs. NYG

Tue, 15 Sep 2015 14:04:57 -0700

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan has averaged 284.6 yards and two touchdowns in three career games against the New York Giants.

Fantasy Tip: Ryan had his ups and downs in Week 1 against the Philadelphia Eagles, but this could be the week to increase those ups as he has seen his fair share of success versus New York. This contest could turn into a shootout, in which case you'd want Ryan ($7,800, 15.6% of cap) on your FantasyScore squad.

Falcons | Matt Ryan likes new offense

Wed, 17 Jun 2015 09:42:13 -0700

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan said he likes the offense that offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan has brought to the team because it is a balanced offense. "Balance on offense is huge," Ryan said. "I think with the run scheme that Kyle brings in, that's going to help us improve in the run game. Certainly, when you get the running game going, that helps the quarterback and that helps the passing game. I'm all for it."

Fantasy Tip: Ryan is coming off a solid season with 4,694 passing yards and 28 touchdowns, but those stats could drop with the new offense. Ryan still has a lot of weapons to work with at receiver and could be a No. 1 quarterback in many fantasy leagues.

Falcons | Matt Ryan moving out of pocket more

Fri, 29 May 2015 21:44:52 -0700

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan will move outside the pocket more this season in offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan's system.

Fantasy Tip: While he is not an elite fantasy player at the quarterback position, Ryan has proven to be a safe, lower-end QB1. With a speedy weapon like Julio Jones to work with, moving outside the pocket more often could open up some big-play opportunities for Ryan and the offense.

Falcons | Julio Jones has big day in win

Mon, 01 Dec 2014 09:24:31 -0800

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones had the better of Arizona Cardinals CB Patrick Peterson in the team's Week 13 win, and he had 10 catches for a career-high 189 yards and a touchdown. QB Matt Ryan was 30-for-41 for 361 yards and two touchdowns in the game.

Fantasy Tip: Jones likely carried many FantasyScore lineups to victories this weekend, and the absence of Roddy White likely helped Jones' cause. With a Monday night tilt against Green Bay coming next, Jones could have another fine day, especially if Atlanta falls behind early and is forced to pass. The Packers have allowed wideouts an average of 28.80 fantasy points in the last four weeks.

Falcons | Matt Ryan heavily pressured

Mon, 20 Oct 2014 14:20:12 -0700

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan was sacked five times as the team's offensive line continues to struggle with injuries and poor play. "We had way too much pressure," head coach Mike Smith said. "Our quarterback was hit and sacked way too much. There were times where we really didn't have a chance to get the play off, and that's very difficult for a quarterback, and we have to do better with our protection."

Fantasy Tip: Ryan's offensive line lost another key piece with Peter Konz (knee) out for the season. A patchwork O-line doesn't bode well for Ryan for the rest of the season, and you should definitely look to avoid him in Week 8 against the Detroit Lions.
