Broncos | No team drills for Jamaal Charles

Tue, 13 Jun 2017 11:33:11 -0700

Denver Broncos RB Jamaal Charles (knee) will not participate in team drills during the Broncos' three-day minicamp. He will do some work with his helmet on, however.

Fantasy Tip: The Broncos will be careful with their fragile veteran running back this offseason. Don't be surprised to see him limited in the preseason, too, after two consecutive serious knee injuries. Charles still has more value in PPR formats, but he's a high risk, medium reward player.

Broncos | Jamaal Charles takes part in drills

Mon, 05 Jun 2017 15:43:31 -0700

Denver Broncos RB Jamaal Charles (knee) participated in some light drills with the running backs during organized team activities Monday, June 5.

Fantasy Tip: Charles will not be the starting running back but will have a role in the offense if he is healthy. He probably will be used as a receiver out of the backfield and could also receive some carries. He probably should be considered a late-round pick in fantasy leagues but will have more value in point-per-reception leagues.

Broncos | Jamaal Charles ready by training camp?

Tue, 23 May 2017 13:34:57 -0700

Denver Broncos RB Jamaal Charles (knee) hopes to be ready for action by training camp, according to head coach Vance Joseph. Charles will rehabilitate and get back to good health during organized team activities.

Fantasy Tip: Charles will be part of a committee in Denver, primarily with C.J. Anderson, and should be on the field mostly in passing situations and on third downs. Health is a huge risk in Charles' case and he can't be drafted as more than a flex in PPR formats.

Broncos | Denver plans on using RB committee in '17

Mon, 22 May 2017 21:36:51 -0700

Denver Broncos head coach Vance Joseph is planning on using a running-back-by-committee system in the upcoming season. "You need two or three guys that can carry the load," Joseph said. "It is no longer a one-guy position. I'm excited to have Jamaal (Charles), C.J. (Anderson), (Devontae Booker), even De'Angelo (Henderson) in the mix there. It's a good group. It's going to be competitive, and that's the way it should be."

Fantasy Tip: Anderson figures to lead the way throughout the campaign, but it looks like he may not get as much work as his fantasy owners will desire, especially since he's coming back from a significant injury. With Charles and Booker also in town, it looks like this will be a tricky situation to deal with in 2017.

Broncos | Jamaal Charles not a lock for roster

Thu, 18 May 2017 18:09:44 -0700

Denver Broncos RB Jamaal Charles has a 50 percent chance to make the 53-man roster, according to beat writer Mike Klis.

Fantasy Tip: If Charles can prove he is healthy during camp, he should land a spot in the running back rotation. Even in that scenario, he is only worth taking a chance on in the later rounds.

Broncos | Open competition at RB in Denver

Fri, 12 May 2017 12:14:40 -0700

Denver Broncos head coach Vance Joseph told reporters Friday, May 12, there will be competition for the starting running back job in training camp, presumably between C.J. Anderson, Jamaal Charles and Devontae Booker.

Fantasy Tip: Joseph may actually be leaning toward a committee approach based on his comments Friday. Assuming Charles is anywhere close to his former self, he should be considered the leader, although his recent injury woes makes him a poor bet to hold up all season. Anderson is most likely going to be the most valuable player in this bunch in 2017, but he has yet to prove he can handle a heavy workload for a full season. As a result, none of these backs may be worth anything more than flex consideration in 2017.

Broncos | One-year deal for Jamaal Charles

Tue, 02 May 2017 14:30:27 -0700

Updating a previous report, Denver Broncos RB Jamaal Charles' deal is one year in length and worth up to $3.75 million, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: Charles has a one-year prove-it deal with Denver to see if his knees can hold up. At 30 years old and with multiple knee surgeries, the safe route to take is drafting Charles as and RB3 or flex in PPR leagues.

Broncos | Jamaal Charles joining Broncos

Tue, 02 May 2017 14:26:48 -0700

Free-agent RB Jamaal Charles (Chiefs) will sign with the Denver Broncos after agreeing to terms Tuesday, May 2, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: A healthy Jamaal Charles significantly diminishes the fantasy value of C.J. Anderson and Devontae Booker, but more so Booker. The key word in that sentence is "healthy." Charles has missed close to two full seasons consecutively due to multiple knee surgeries. Anderson should serve as Denver's two-down back and is still worth a look as an RB2. Charles will have a change-of-pace role and makes Booker ostensibly undraftable as long as he can stay on the field.

Broncos | Denver may sign Jamaal Charles

Tue, 02 May 2017 11:27:25 -0700

Former Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles (knee) is visiting the Denver Broncos Tuesday, May 2. If Charles passes his physical, the expectation is that the Broncos will sign him, according to The Denver Post's Troy Renck.

Fantasy Tip: Charles epitomizes a high-risk, high-reward player at this point in his career. He might even be a high-risk, medium-reward player. The oft-injured running back has only played in eight games the last two seasons and has undergone multiple knee surgeries. It's an exciting move and a good fit if the Broncos sign him, but don't let the excitement force an overdraft. He's no more than an RB3 or flex option with more value in PPR leagues.

Broncos | Jamaal Charles will visit Broncos

Mon, 01 May 2017 12:01:34 -0700

Free-agent RB Jamaal Charles (Chiefs) is scheduled to visit the Denver Broncos Tuesday, May 2.

Fantasy Tip: C.J. Anderson will lead Denver's backfield, but Charles could serve as the third-down back in a change-of-pace role alongside Devontae Booker. Unfortunately for Charles, he's 30 years old and has missed 23 games the last two seasons due to serious injuries and multiple knee surgeries. He's merely a late-round flier at this point in his career. The risk is just too great.

Seahawks | Jamaal Charles leaves Seattle with no deal

Thu, 16 Mar 2017 17:25:43 -0700

Free-agent RB Jamaal Charles (Chiefs) "had a good visit" with the Seattle Seahawks Thursday, March 16, but ultimately left without signing a contract. Charles also may be visiting another team next week, though the identity of that franchise isn't known.

Fantasy Tip: The Seahawks just signed Eddie Lacy, and considering they also have Thomas Rawls and C.J. Prosise on the roster, there just doesn't seem to be a fit here now. Charles was one of the league's top running backs when healthy, but over the past two seasons, he's managed to suit up in only eight games combined. His next destination will determine how much fantasy value he has entering his age-30 season.

Seahawks | Jamaal Charles will meet with Seattle Wednesday

Mon, 13 Mar 2017 14:37:35 -0700

Free-agent RB Jamaal Charles (Chiefs) will visit the Seattle Seahawks Wednesday, March 15, and Thursday, March 16, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: Charles is what many would consider washed up at this point in his career. His extensive injury history has caught up to him as he has only played in eight games over the last two seasons. Even if he signed with the Seahawks, he would be splitting snaps with Thomas Rawls and C.J. Prosise. At 30 years old, Charles is too big of a risk to be drafted as more than an RB4.

Seahawks | Jamaal Charles to meet with Seattle

Sun, 12 Mar 2017 16:12:37 -0700

Free-agent RB Jamaal Charles (Chiefs) is scheduled to meet with the Seattle Seahawks in the near future.

Fantasy Tip: Charles has not received a lot of interest this offseason, but the Seahawks have been checking in on several running backs. He probably would not be the starting running back if he joined Seattle but probably should have a solid role. Charles could be a No. 3 or No. 4 running back in fantasy leagues depending in his role.

Seahawks | Jamaal Charles has mutual interest in SEA

Thu, 09 Mar 2017 05:27:26 -0800

Free-agent RB Jamaal Charles (Chiefs) has mutual interest in the Seattle Seahawks, according to sources.

Fantasy Tip: Charles has missed a large part of the last two years, and there are questions what is left in the tank now that he's north of 30. It's worth noting that he has only played 16 games three times in nine seasons, and he's probably an RB3 at this point.

NFL | Jamaal Charles not attracting much interest

Sun, 05 Mar 2017 10:03:55 -0800

Free-agent RB Jamaal Charles (Chiefs) is finding a cool market for his services at the 2017 NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis.

Fantasy Tip: Charles is available to sign immediately after the Kansas City Chiefs cut him last week, but he may be waiting a while before finding his new employer. The 30-year-old makes sense as a short-term answer for the Philadelphia Eagles, but he will have to prove his knees are healthy first. While Charles could conceivably start in Philly, his days as a regular fantasy starter are almost certainly over.

Eagles | Philly to consider Jamaal Charles

Wed, 01 Mar 2017 18:19:07 -0800

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson suggested Wednesday, March 1, he will look into whether or not free-agent RB Jamaal Charles (Chiefs) is a fit in Philadelphia. Pederson served as Charles' offensive coordinator with the Kansas City Chiefs from 2013-15.

Fantasy Tip: Assuming Charles is cleared medically in the near future, this marriage makes a ton of sense because of Philadelphia's need for a lead runner, Charles' familiarity with Peterson and the fact he should come fairly cheap (given his recent injury history), which is a necessity for the cap-strapped Eagles. Charles is going to be hard to trust in fantasy as anything more than a risky flex regardless of where he winds up, but he could salvage some value if he can stay healthy in Philly.

Chiefs | Jamaal Charles failed physical

Tue, 28 Feb 2017 18:03:11 -0800

Updating a previous story, Free-agent RB Jamaal Charles (Chiefs) was released Tuesday, Feb. 28, with a "failed physical" designation.

Fantasy Tip: NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported earlier in the day Charles is "healthy", but it appears the 30-year-old's may need a bit more time to fully recover from the knee injuries that have ruined the better part of his last two seasons. He should find a new job quickly once he is medically cleared, but his days as a trusted feature back are probably over.

Chiefs | Jamaal Charles released

Tue, 28 Feb 2017 12:13:28 -0800

Updating a previous report, Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles was released Tuesday, Feb. 28.

Fantasy Tip: The Chiefs could afford to make this move considering Charles' age, injury history and the players behind him. Spencer Ware will be the main man in the Chiefs' backfield going forward, with Charcandrick West playing a complementary role. Ware proved himself worthy of starting status last year in Charles' absence and should be drafted as a low-end RB1 to high-end RB2.

Chiefs | KC set to release Jamaal Charles

Tue, 28 Feb 2017 11:16:11 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles is expected to be released by the team Tuesday, Feb. 28, according to multiple sources.

Fantasy Tip: The move will clear $6.2 million in salary cap space and makes it much more palatable for the Chiefs to fit Eric Berry's new large contract onto the team payroll. Charles is one of the top running backs of his generation, but he has only 83 carries since the end of the 2014 season. His 2016 season was a complete wash as he battled injuries to both knees. The 30-year-old should find a job on the open market, but he'll probably be paid like a backup and his days as a fantasy superstar are likely over.

Eagles | Jamaal Charles an option for Eagles?

Sat, 25 Feb 2017 11:42:34 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles could be an option for the Philadelphia Eagles if he is released by the Chiefs, in the opinion of ESPN.com's Tim McManus. The Eagles will be looking to add at running back this offseason and Charles has worked with head coach Doug Pederson when Pederson was the offensive coordinator of the Chiefs.

Fantasy Tip: Charles is expected to be available in free agency and may not be able to find a starting job because of his recent injury history. He would be part of a committee if he signed with the Eagles but likely would have a solid role in the offense. He will be a risky option for owners but could be a No. 3 fantasy running back depending on his role.

Chiefs | Jamaal Charles expected to be released

Sun, 12 Feb 2017 14:55:39 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles is expected to be released this offseason in order for the team to create salary cap space.

Fantasy Tip: Charles has dealt with knee injuries over the last two seasons and likely will be a free agent this offseason. Charles may not be able to handle a full workload anymore but could have a solid role for a team. Charles can be a No. 3 running back for fantasy owners depending on his team.

Chiefs | Jamaal Charles hopes to be ready for 2017

Thu, 09 Feb 2017 10:57:27 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles (knee) is working hard in order to be ready for the 2017 season, according to general manager John Dorsey. Dorsey said he does not know what will happen in March but sees Charles as a member of the team at this point.

Fantasy Tip: Charles has been limited to eight games over the last two seasons and is still dealing with a knee injury. It is not known if Charles will remain with the Chiefs since they have Spencer Ware and Charcandrick West on the roster. Owners in fantasy leagues should monitor his situation because his fantasy value will depend on his role with a team.

Chiefs | Jamaal Charles could be released

Sun, 22 Jan 2017 09:42:58 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles may be a candidate to be released this offseason because he is scheduled to make $7 million in 2017 and dealt with knee injuries this season. Charles could return if the two sides can agree on a restructured contract.

Fantasy Tip: Charles was limited to 40 yards on 12 carries during the season and has dealt with injuries in the past, so he could hit the free-agent market this offseason. It is not known if Charles will be a starting running back in 2017 but he should have a solid role for a team. Charles probably can be a No. 2 or No. 3 fantasy running back depending on his role.

Chiefs | Jamaal Charles wants to keep playing

Tue, 10 Jan 2017 10:40:03 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles (knee) stated on his website recently that he wants to continue playing.

Fantasy Tip: Charles has played in only eight games over the last seasons and finished with 40 yards on 12 carries in 2016, so the Chiefs may be inclined to part ways with the 30-year-old this offseason. On the other hand, Spencer Ware's second-half fade may convince the team to bring him back. Assuming he returns to Kansas City, Charles figures to be a high-risk, high-reward mid-round pick in 2017 fantasy drafts.

Chiefs | Jamaal Charles' season over

Thu, 22 Dec 2016 07:53:17 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles (knee) was not activated from the Reserve/Injured list Wednesday, Dec. 21, and his season is over.

Fantasy Tip: Charles turns 30 next week, and he has had two season plagued by knee injuries. His draft stock will take a severe hit next season, and it may be a question mark if he returns to the Chiefs. Charles will probably fall into the RB3 range in drafts unless he lands on a team where he's the clear-cut back.

Chiefs | Jamaal Charles could return for playoffs

Thu, 08 Dec 2016 13:14:16 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles (knee) is doing well in his recovery from two knee surgeries. He is hopeful that he'll be able to return for the playoffs.

Fantasy Tip: Charles won't be fantasy relevant for the remainder of the regular season, but those who participate in fantasy games for the playoffs should pay attention to Charles' progress. Spencer Ware has filled in splendidly and both would likely be startable depending on the matchup.

Chiefs | Second scope good for Jamaal Charles

Thu, 17 Nov 2016 13:51:41 -0800

Updating a previous report, Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles (knee) could return to the field this season thanks to his second knee scope. A return in late December or in the playoffs is still possible. Without the second scope, Charles would not have been able to return at all this season.

Fantasy Tip: This won't have much of an impact on Spencer Ware's fantasy value. Ware remains a weekly RB1 as long as he is healthy. That's including this week against a Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense that allowed 100 rushing yards per game and nine total touchdowns in nine games to running backs.

Chiefs | Jamaal Charles undergoes surgery

Thu, 17 Nov 2016 10:14:47 -0800

Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles (knee) underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right knee Monday, Nov. 14.

Fantasy Tip: There was hope that Charles would be able to return for the postseason, but this surgery probably will end his season. Owners should consider Charles a No. 2 running back in drafts next season.

Chiefs | Jamaal Charles could return in January

Sun, 06 Nov 2016 07:29:08 -0800

The Kansas City Chiefs are optimistic that RB Jamaal Charles (knee) could resume playing as soon as Week 17's game against the San Diego Chargers, according to a source. However, it is more likely that he would be available for a potential postseason run.

Fantasy Tip: Charles will need several weeks to recover from surgery to trim the meniscus in his right knee but his possible return will come too late to help most fantasy owners. Charcandrick West will serve as Kansas City's starting running back for Week 9's game against the Jaguars, although Spencer Ware should reassume the starting role once he fully recovers from a concussion.

Chiefs | Jamaal Charles could return this year

Thu, 03 Nov 2016 05:22:01 -0700

Updating previous reports, Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles (knee) had successful surgery Wednesday, Nov. 2, and there's a chance he could return this year.

Fantasy Tip: That seems pretty unlikely, but if you have the roster space, he could be a nice boost for the playoff run. Spencer Ware (concussion) hasn't cleared the concussion protocol, and Charcandrick West looks like a solid RB2 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Chiefs | Jamaal Charles having surgery

Wed, 02 Nov 2016 06:34:38 -0700

Updating previous reports, Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles (knee) will have arthroscopic surgery on his right knee Wednesday, Nov. 2. A source said Dr. James Andrews wants to take a look at the knee with a scope to determine the necessary procedure and will communicate with the Chiefs' medical staff after he is finished.

Fantasy Tip: Charles is on IR, and his fantasy season is essentially over. Spencer Ware (concussion) remains in the concussion protocol, and Charcandrick West is as talented of a third running back as you'll find. He'll be a solid RB2 or flex option against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Chiefs | Jamaal Charles heads to IR, facing surgery

Tue, 01 Nov 2016 14:56:13 -0700

Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles (knee) has been placed on injured reserve Tuesday, Nov. 1. After visiting Dr. James Andrews, it appears Charles will need a second surgery on his surgically-repaired knee. The severity is unclear.

Fantasy Tip: Unfortunately, this will basically end his season, as Charles just was never able to get over the torn ACL injury he sustained a year ago. A second surgery could also put his NFL future in jeopardy, which would be a real shame. Spencer Ware will remain the starter moving forward, though he's coming off a concussion in Week 8. Charcandrick West is the only tailback behind Ware and should be scooped up off every waiver wire, if possible.

Fri, 28 Oct 2016 16:16:01 -0700

Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles (knee) did not participate in practice Friday, Oct. 28, and has been ruled out for Week 8.

Fantasy Tip: Spencer Ware will continue to receive most of the carries during the game with Charcandrick West also receiving some playing time. Ware should be a starting running back in all fantasy leagues, while West could have some value as a flex option in some leagues.

Chiefs | Jamaal Charles' knee 'acted up' last week

Fri, 28 Oct 2016 13:11:52 -0700

Updating a previous story, Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles (knee) had a setback in his surgically repaired right knee in a Week 7 win over the New Orleans Saints. Head coach Andy Reid admitted Friday, Oct. 28, that Charles' knee "acted up". "The knee, it was up and down. We'll just back him off here and see if we can't get that thing to settle down. You have to be smart with it. He might take a step back and come forward with something better," Reid said.

Fantasy Tip: So it appears Charles or the coaching staff pushed a bit too hard last week. As aggravating as it might be, owners need to remain patient, because the reality of the situation is if the Chiefs didn't think he was going to be of use and play a critical role down the stretch, they would have already placed him on IR. In the meantime, Spencer Ware should remain a rock-solid RB1 in fantasy.

Chiefs | Jamaal Charles will sit vs. Colts

Fri, 28 Oct 2016 12:39:42 -0700

Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles (knee) has been ruled out for Week 8 against the Indianapolis Colts.

Fantasy Tip: He was limited in practice all week after receiving one carry on two snaps in Week 7, so one has to wonder how Charles has regressed from last week. Spencer Ware is an elite RB1 play again this week against another soft run defense, while Charcandrick West should see some snaps in relief.

Thu, 27 Oct 2016 17:39:13 -0700

Washington Redskins RB Jamaal Charles (knee) was a limited participant in practice Thursday, Oct. 27.

Chiefs | Jamaal Charles limited

Wed, 26 Oct 2016 15:24:35 -0700

Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles (knee) was limited during practice Wednesday, Oct. 26.

Fantasy Tip: Charles was active for the team's Week 7 game but received only one carry during the game, so owners should monitor the situation. He will be a risky option for owners but could be at least a flex option in some leagues if he is able to play.

Chiefs | KC downplays Jamaal Charles lack of use

Mon, 24 Oct 2016 10:48:06 -0700

Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles (knee) was limited to one carry on two snaps in a Week 7 win over the New Orleans Saints. Head coach Andy Reid told the media, "His leg wasn't feeling right. That was it."

Fantasy Tip: There has been a ton of overreaction to Charles' lack of involvement in Week 7, but it was obvious he was going to be limited once he experienced swelling in his knee late last week. Kansas City hasn't deviated from taking baby steps with his recovery - in part because Spencer Ware has played so well - and there haven't been enough details released yet to justify the level of panic that seems to be surrounding him. He's a risky buy-low to be sure, but the uncertainty should allow him to be acquired cheaply in a trade.

Chiefs | Jamaal Charles limited in win

Sun, 23 Oct 2016 19:26:15 -0700

Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles (knee) was active in the Week 7 game against the New Orleans Saints, but he played a limited role due to swelling in his surgically-repaired knee. He had just one carry in the first half.

Fantasy Tip: Charles has been a bust so far, as he is slow to recover from his offseason knee surgery. Spencer Ware is performing well and will not come off the field as long as he is getting the job done. Avoid Charles until he is 100 percent healthy and/or Ware suffers a long-term injury to force Charles into a bigger role.

Chiefs | Jamaal Charles active for Week 7

Sun, 23 Oct 2016 08:34:12 -0700

Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles (knee) is active for Week 7's game against the New Orleans Saints.

Fantasy Tip: Charles is expected to see a limited number of snaps after battling swelling in his knee earlier in the week, so he should be viewed as a risky play despite the favorable matchup. Spencer Ware will see most of the carries for Kansas City Sunday afternoon and makes a viable fantasy option in all formats.

Chiefs | KC optimistic about Jamaal Charles

Sun, 23 Oct 2016 08:04:00 -0700

Contrary to a previous report, the Kansas City Chiefs are optimistic that RB Jamaal Charles (knee) will be able to see limited snaps in Week 7's game against the New Orleans Saints, according to multiple sources. He will be tested in pregame warmups before the club decides whether or not to deactivate him.

Fantasy Tip: Despite a favorable matchup against a porous New Orleans defense that has allowed the most rushing touchdowns in the league (11), Charles should be avoided this week due to the uncertainty surrounding his health. He was a limited participant in practice Friday, Oct. 21, and has dealt with recent swelling in his surgically-repaired knee. Spencer Ware will receive the bulk of the carries for the Chiefs in Week 7 regardless of whether Charles suits up.

Chiefs | Jamaal Charles could miss Sunday's game

Sun, 23 Oct 2016 06:22:41 -0700

There is a possibility that Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles (knee) could be inactive for Week 7's game against the New Orleans Saints, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: Charles was a limited participant in practice Friday, Oct. 21, but has been dealing with recent swelling in his knee and was not expected to receive many snaps anyway. Spencer Ware will continue to receive the bulk of the carries and has a favorable matchup versus the Saints, while Charcandrick West merits consideration as a desperation flex option as Ware's handcuff.

Chiefs | Jamaal Charles has swelling in knee

Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles (knee) was limited in practice Friday, Oct. 21, due to some swelling in his surgically repaired knee and will be listed as questionable for Week 7 against the New Orleans Saints.

Fantasy Tip: It's not uncommon for players coming off an ACL surgery to experience swelling, so owners need to stay tuned for more updates. Spencer Ware was already going to start and handle the bulk of the backfield touches this week anyway, so perhaps the team will rest Charles this weekend in order to get him right for the second half of the season. If Charles sits, Charcandrick West would be Ware's handcuff and could be worth a desperation flex play against the Saints' hapless run defense.

Chiefs | Jamaal Charles not ready for full load

Mon, 17 Oct 2016 12:58:58 -0700

Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles (knee) continues to see increased activity, but he is still not ready to assume the full workload according to head coach Andy Reid. RB Spencer Ware outtouched Charles 26-11 in Week 6 and held a 40-15 edge in snaps. "Is he ready to carry it every down? I don't think that's where we're at right this minute. But he got more carries than he did against Pittsburgh, and his attitude from the get go has been give me the ball, I want to play. The attitude is awesome," Reid said.

Fantasy Tip: Ware is still paying dividends for fantasy owners longer than most expected on draft day. Still, Charles is probably going to take over the lead role sometime in the next couple of weeks, making now a great buy-low opportunity for the 29-year-old back and a good time to see what Ware's trade value is.

Chiefs | Jamaal Charles ready for more work

Wed, 12 Oct 2016 11:39:57 -0700

Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles (knee) said he is just as fast as he was before he suffered his knee injury and is ready for more work against the Oakland Raiders in Week 6.

Fantasy Tip: Charles received only two carries in Week 4 but should be more involved in the offense in Week 6. He likely will share playing time with Spencer Ware during the game but could see some targets in the passing game out of the backfield. Charles can be a decent No. 2 running back for owners if he is ready to play.

Chiefs | Jamaal Charles limited in return

Sun, 02 Oct 2016 22:40:38 -0700

Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles (knee) made his season debut in Week 4 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He ran twice for seven yards and had no receptions on one target.

Fantasy Tip: Andy Reid treated Charles with kid gloves in his one, but might be forced to use him more in future weeks with Charcandrick West sidelined and Knile Davis leaving this game early. Charles has two more weeks to get better before the team resumes play in Week 6.

Chiefs | Jamaal Charles to make '16 debut Sunday

Fri, 30 Sep 2016 11:57:06 -0700

Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles (knee) will make his season debut in the team's Week 4 contest Sunday, Oct. 2, against the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: It's good to see Charles finally ready to return after undergoing ACL surgery last year, but owners should still use caution with the talented 29-year-old in his first game back. Spencer Ware has done an admirable job stepping in, and even with Charcandrick West sidelined, Charles will most likely be on a snap count as he's eased back into game action.

Chiefs | Jamaal Charles limited again

Wed, 28 Sep 2016 17:48:34 -0700

Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles (knee) was limited during practice Wednesday, Sept. 28.

Fantasy Tip: Charles may have a chance to play in Week 4 but more will be known about his status later in the week. He probably would be eased back into the offense, which will make him a risky option for owners. Owners may want to see Charles play in a game before using him in their lineups.
