Tue, 04 Jun 2013 05:35:34 -0700 Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Doug Pederson confirmed RB Jamaal Charles will be a major part of the team's passing game. Fantasy Tip: Charles proved his health last year with over 1,500 yards rushing. From 2004-2011 Brian Westbrook and LeSean McCoy averaged 65 catches a season for the Philadelphia Eagles in Andy Reid's offense. You can expect Charles to approach that, despite never catching more than 45 balls in a season. Charles appears poised to be one of the top running backs in 2013.
Sat, 01 Jun 2013 10:08:09 -0700 Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles' (toe) X-rays came back negative after a toe on his right foot was stepped on during organized team activities Friday, May 31. Fantasy Tip: Charles will be fine. An increased role in Andy Reid's new offense this year should make Charles even more valuable, especially in point-per-reception affairs. Consider him a bonafide No. 1 running back during draft season.
Fri, 31 May 2013 11:46:11 -0700 Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles (toe) left practice early Friday, May 31, after having his toe stepped on. Charles is expected to be fine. Fantasy Tip: Check back on Charles to make sure he returns to practice next week, but it does not sound like this is a big deal.
Wed, 15 May 2013 13:13:05 -0700 Kansas City Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe said he expects to lead the NFL in receptions and receiving touchdowns in 2013, and that RB Jamaal Charles will lead the league in rushing this season. Fantasy Tip: Bowe should receive more targets under head coach Andy Reid but likely will not be a top fantasy wide receiver. He should be viewed as a solid No. 2 wide receiver option. Charles has shown he can be a top fantasy running back and should be an every-week starter in 2013.
Wed, 17 Apr 2013 18:37:33 -0700 Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles might break his career high for pass receptions this season, as head coach Andy Reid has used his backs as receivers out of the backfield in years past. Charles is perfectly fine with that. "I'm happy I can catch out of the backfield more," Charles said Wednesday, April 17. "This is the most movement I've been (asked to do) in five years in the league, shifting and motion. This is the most I've ever (done). I have to get my mind right and my body in shape for this type of offense." Fantasy Tip: Charles was already going to be a bona fide RB1 in all fantasy formats, but he could be especially valuable in leagues which reward points per receptions (PPR). His career high for catches in a season is 45, set during the 2010 campaign.
Tue, 15 Jan 2013 19:15:21 -0800 Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles was a stud in his return from knee surgery, gaining over 1,500 yards on the ground. While RB Peyton Hillis, an unrestricted free agent, is not likely to be back. However, FB Nate Eachus and RB Shaun Draughn provide some decent depth, as well as RB Cyrus Gray. New head coach Andy Reid and general manager John Dorsey aren't expected to have to tinker much with this position.
Sat, 05 Jan 2013 05:40:26 -0800 Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid has always liked to use his tailbacks in the passing game. RB Jamaal Charles had 35 receptions in 2012 and could see that number increase next season.
Fri, 28 Dec 2012 13:12:39 -0800 Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles (illness) fully participated in practice Friday, Dec. 28, and is listed as probable for Week 17.
Thu, 27 Dec 2012 13:36:12 -0800 Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles (illness) practiced in full Thursday, Dec. 27.
Thu, 27 Dec 2012 06:42:07 -0800 Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles is the only running back to have amassed over 100 yards rushing against the Denver Broncos defense durng the team's 10-game winning streak.
