White Sox | Tyler Saladino leading off vs. Twins

Wed, 02 Sep 2015 14:25:46 -0700

Chicago White Sox 3B Tyler Saladino is playing shortstop and batting first against Minnesota Twins SP Tommy Milone Wednesday, Sept. 2. SS Alexei Ramirez is not in the starting lineup Wednesday.

Fantasy Tip: Saladino ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) is nothing more than a flier at FantasyScore Wednesday. He has an uninspiring .211/.295/.368 slash line against lefties this year with an underwhelming .511 OPS over his past 22 games. The lineup spot is intriguing, but his recent form makes him extremely risky. Gordon Beckham ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) is also making his second consecutive start at third base, but he is nothing more than a dice roll in daily contests. At the same time, though, Beckham could have some late-season value in AL-only and cavernous mixed leagues.

White Sox | Alexei Ramirez resting

Fri, 17 Jul 2015 16:01:48 -0700

Chicago White Sox SS Alexei Ramirez is not in the starting lineup for Game 2 of a doubleheader Friday, July 17. SS Tyler Saladino is starting at the 6 and hitting ninth against Kansas City Royals SP Edinson Volquez.

Fantasy Tip: Saladino is a very weak FantasyScore option and should be avoided in Friday night's contests.

White Sox | Alexei Ramirez returns

Fri, 10 Jul 2015 11:32:55 -0700

Chicago White Sox SS Alexei Ramirez (foot) is back in the starting lineup against Chicago Cubs SP Kyle Hendricks Friday, July 10. Ramirez is hitting sixth in the batting order.

Fantasy Tip: Ramirez ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) is currently riding a seven-game hitting streak (10-for-23) but has no home runs or RBI during that stretch. He typically fails to fill out the stat sheet and still is hitting only .229 (69-for-301) with two home runs and 26 RBI on the season. He's more intriguing because he's hot, but he's still more of a low-end shortstop play.

White Sox | Alexei Ramirez hopes to return tomorrow

Thu, 09 Jul 2015 15:05:05 -0700

Chicago White Sox SS Alexei Ramirez (foot) said the inside of his left foot swelled up after the game Wednesday, July 8, but he hopes to return to action Friday, July 10.

Fantasy Tip: Ramirez ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) is actually in the midst of a seven-game hitting streak in which he's batting .435 (10-for-23) in the month of July, but he doesn't have any home runs or RBI. He's still hitting only .229 on the year with two home runs and 26 RBI, and without much power or speed, he's still merely a weak shortstop play on FantasyScore.

White Sox | Alexei Ramirez update

Thu, 09 Jul 2015 09:48:02 -0700

Updating an earlier report, Chicago White Sox SS Alexei Ramirez (foot) is out of the lineup Thursday, July 9, due to a foot contusion suffered after he fouled a ball off his foot the previous day.

Fantasy Tip: Ramirez ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) has been awful this year with a .229-2-26 line, but he was hitting .400 the last week. If he's back in the next couple of days, give him a look at the cheap price on FantasyScore.

White Sox | Alexei Ramirez sitting out

Thu, 09 Jul 2015 09:28:25 -0700

Chicago White Sox SS Alexei Ramirez is out of the lineup Thursday, July 9, with SS Gordon Beckham hitting ninth.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham ($2,300, 4.6% of cap) is hitting .091 and doesn't have a rich history against R.A. Dickey, so he's not worth the flyer on FantasyScore.

White Sox | Jose Abreu batting second

Sat, 27 Jun 2015 10:07:13 -0700

Chicago White Sox 1B Jose Abreu is batting second against Detroit Tigers SP Kyle Ryan Saturday, June 27. It marks the first time in Abreu's major league career that he is hitting in the No. 2 spot. OF Avisail Garcia will bat in the No. 3 spot, followed by DH Adam LaRoche, OF Melky Cabrera and SS Alexei Ramirez.

Fantasy Tip: The White Sox have scored 19 runs in their last four games, so it's uncertain what brought upon this lineup shakeup. Abreu ($5,800, 11.6% of cap) is 2-for-5 in his career against Ryan and is batting .323 over the last week.

White Sox | Alexei Ramirez in two-hole

Fri, 26 Jun 2015 14:11:41 -0700

Chicago White Sox SS Alexei Ramirez is hitting second against Detroit Tigers SP Anibal Sanchez Friday, June 26.

Fantasy Tip: Ramirez ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) is hitting only .222 (59-for-266) with two home runs and 26 RBI on the season, and has been even worse in June (.212-0-5). Perhaps a move up in the order can spark him, but you shouldn't be willing to find out with him in your FantasyScore lineup against an improving Sanchez.

White Sox | Alexei Ramirez grabs some pine

Thu, 25 Jun 2015 08:00:23 -0700

Chicago White Sox SS Alexei Ramirez is out of the lineup Thursday, June 25, in favor of 2B Gordon Beckham.

Fantasy Tip: Beckham ($2,300, 4.6% of cap) is next up in the revolving door that is the two-hole. His .227-4-16 line doesn't give much reason to use him on FantasyScore.

White Sox | Alexei Ramirez won't get rest

Tue, 23 Jun 2015 22:55:25 -0700

Chicago White Sox SS Alexei Ramirez has hit just .170 over his past 14 games, but manager Robin Ventura said he does not see any fatigue. "There are times when you do give him that day, and I don't think this is that time," Ventura said Tuesday, June 23.

Fantasy Tip: Ventura might be sticking with Ramirez ($3,400; or 6.8% of cap), but FantasyScore players should avoid him until he starts to show more consistency.
