Rams | Michael Brockers to start inside

St. Louis Rams head coach Jeff Fisher said rookie DT Michael Brockers, the team's first-round selection, is explosive and instinctive. Fisher said it was important for the team to add a player like Brockers in their division, which features some downhill runners. "One person I know that's smiling right now is (LB) James Laurinaitis," Fisher said.

Brockers will likely start inside next to free-agent additional Kendall Langford. Fisher said Brockers is "NFL ready" and not a project for the team.

St. Louis Rams LB James Laurinaitis' (foot) MRI exam did not reveal any serious damage to his foot. "It's still bothering him a little bit and we just didn't want to overdo it today and have him not be full on Sunday," head coach Steve Spagnuolo said. "The hope is to have him as healthy as possible."

St. Louis Rams LB James Laurinaitis (chest) was able to return to practice Monday, Aug. 15. He had been sideliend for a few days due to a strained chest muscle. "You just have to be careful with strains," Laurinaitis said. "Because you get something tight with too much force on it and resistance, and you're worried about tearing it, and that'd be a nightmare. I'm feeling fine."
