Updating a previous report, St. Louis Cardinals 1B Lance Berkman was scratched from the lineup Tuesday, May 15, but it was not injured related. Manager Mike Matheny explained that he wanted to find at-bats for 3B David Freese. "Early on, when I got here this morning, I was still trying to figure out if we could get (Freese) in," Matheny said. "I made the late scratch to get David in and to give Lance a day on a pitcher he's had a little bit of a tough time with."
