CBSSports.com reports the Seattle Mariners signed free-agent 2B Callix Crabbe (Brewers), OF Freddy Guzman (Tigers), RP Eric Hull (Red Sox) and IF Chris Woodward (Phillies) to minor league deals Wednesday, Jan. 14. Terms of the deals were not disclosed.

Tom Haudricourt, of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, reports the Milwaukee Brewers reacquired San Diego Padres 2B Callix Crabbe Friday, May 16. The Brewers had selected Crabbe in the Rule 5 draft of unprotected minor leaguers last year. The Padres designated him for assignment last weekend, giving them 10 days to trade him or have him clear waivers. After he cleared waivers, the Padres were required to offer him back to the Brewers for half the $50,000 draft price. The Brewers have assigned Crabbe to Triple-A Nashville.

Owen Perkins, of MLB.com, reports San Diego Padres IF Callix Crabbe has a good chance to make the opening day roster because of his ability to play multiple positions in the infield and outfield. Through Tuesday, March 18, Crabbe has hit .405 in Cactus League play with one home run and eight RBI.
