Roy Cummings, of the Tampa Tribune, reports Tampa Bay Buccaneers OG Kerry Jenkins (foot) was removed from the injury report Wednesday, Nov. 26. He was initially listed as questionable with a foot sprain but apparently feels much better. Jenkins practiced on Wednesday, and will probably start at left guard for the Sunday, Nov. 30, game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Roy Cummings, of the Tampa Tribune, reports Tampa Bay Buccaneers LT Roman Oben (hand) fractured his right hand during practice Thursday, Oct. 23. Oben will be fitted with padding and should be able to start Sunday, Oct. 26, against the Dallas Cowboys, although he is officially listed as questionable for the game. If Oben is unable to play, the Bucs will start OT Kerry Jenkins at LT and keep their guard tandem of LG Cosey Coleman and RG Jason Whittle intact.

Roy Cummings, of the Tampa Tribune, reports Tampa Bay Buccaneers LG Cosey Coleman had a bad performance Sunday, Sept. 14, against the Carolina Panthers. He was bowled over during a couple of the blocked kicks and didn't do all that well in regular offensive line duties. The Buccaneers may opt to make more use of OG Kerry Jenkins, who lost his job in training camp but is a solid run blocker.

Head coach Jon Gruden described him as being on the top side of doubtful but the down side of questionable. If heís viewed healthy enough to play this weekend he would be in the starting lineup.

"He's as tough as a two-dollar steak," said coach Jon Gruden. "He's still real questionable. He did not practice, but he worked out with Todd Toriscelli, our trainer. We're going to be conservative, but at the same time, the guy wants to play and there's a chance. There is a chance. But we're preparing to play without him."

Buccaneers.com reports Tampa Bay Buccaneers G Kerry Jenkins (broken fibula) may not miss as much action (2-4 weeks) as originally reported. In fact, he's listed as doubtful and not out for this week's game. At this point, it is largely an issue of pain and swelling. Although highly doubtful, Jenkins could possibly practice later this week. On Wednesday afternoon, Jenkins rode a stationary bike on the porch next to the Bucs practice field.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Jon Gruden said the team is very concerned about the lack of depth on the offensive line with the loss of Kerry Jenkins and Kenyatta Walker on Monday night. Gruden said Cornell Green will probably start at right tackle and Todd Washington will also get a starting nod. The Bucs plan to look at bringing in some additional help as well.

Rich Cimini of the New York Daily News reports for the Sporting News the New York Jets apparently have some interest in free agent OL Chris Naeole (Saints). They need a guard to replace the departed Kerry Jenkins and they reportedly don't feel J.P. Machado can be a fulltime starter.

Updating an earlier story, the Tampa Tribune reports the contract signed by G Kerry Jenkins with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is a five-year, $10 million deal that included a $2.6 million signing bonus. He is expected to replace G Randall McDaniel in the team's starting lineup. Jenkins said offensive line coach Bill Muir, who moved from the Jets to the Bucs, was a big factor in his signing with Tampav Bay over re-signing with the Jets.

CNN/SI's Pat Kirwan reports there is a chance the New York Jets could trade OL Kerry Jenkins to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in exchange for CB Donnie Abraham. Abraham played for Herm Edwards and Jenkins was coached by Bucs line coach Bill Muir. Kirwan says no guarantee the trade will happen and in fact previous reports have the Jets giving up a draft pick, not a player.
