The New York Mets are looking at all available left-handed hitters on the free-agent market, which include free-agent OFs Johnny Damon (Rays), Kosuke Fukudome (Indians), Rick Ankiel (Nationals), Raul Ibanez (Nationals) and Juan Pierre (White Sox).

Cleveland Indians OF Kosuke Fukudome, who has been seeing time in right and center field, might see time in left field, according to manager Manny Acta. "We are going to have (Fukudome) take some balls in left field, just to have him give us the option to be in the lineup," Acta said. "We know that (OF Grady Sizemore) doesn't play every day going forward. But still, there are going to be some days that (OF Shin-Soo Choo) and Sizemore are going to be there, and if we want to keep Fukudome in the lineup, then he could play left for us."
