Chicago Cubs manager Mike Quade said he is hoping that the team's entire coaching staff returns for next year and left open the possibility that minor league manager Ryne Sandberg could remain with the team, according to ESPNChicago.com. Pitching coach Larry Rothschild, hitting coach Rudy Jaramillo and bullpen coach Lester Strode are definitely returning.

USA Today's Bob Nightengale reports that the Chicago Cubs could offer hitting coach Rudy Jaramillo (Rangers) a contract in excess of $600,000. He was the highest-paid hitting coach in the majors last season, earning $525,000.

The Daily Herald's Bruce Miles reports that the Chicago Cubs' pursuit of Rudy Jaramillo to be their new hitting coach does not mean that the team will attempt to mend fences with OF Milton Bradley for the 2010 season. Two or three teams may be interested in Bradley, but a trade does not appear to be on the horizon. Bradley had an All-Star season with the Texas Rangers in 2008, where Jaramillo was his hitting coach.
