Mariners | James Jones starting Sunday

Sun, 21 Jun 2015 12:00:34 -0700

Seattle Mariners OF James Jones is starting in center field and batting eighth Sunday, June 21, against the Houston Astros. OF Austin Jackson is getting the day off.

Fantasy Tip: If you need lots of salary cap relief for your FantasyScore lineup, Jones ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) is an intriguing option. Although he is hitless in four at-bats this season, Jones hit .250 with 27 steals over 108 games last year.

Mariners | Austin Jackson back in leadoff spot

Sat, 20 Jun 2015 15:19:45 -0700

Seattle Mariners OF Austin Jackson is back in the leadoff spot Saturday, June 20, against the Houston Astros and LHP Dallas Keuchel.

Fantasy Tip: Jackson ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) has struggled since returning to the lineup, drawing just four walks since May 26. Jackson showed his skill set on the bases Wednesday, when he tripled, but Jackson has just two stolen bases since his return, and he's a non-factor on FantasyScore.

Mariners | Austin Jackson out Tuesday

Tue, 16 Jun 2015 10:16:10 -0700

Seattle Mariners OF Austin Jackson is out of the lineup Tuesday, June 16, in favor of OF James Jones.

Fantasy Tip: Jones didn't impress with a .264-1-13 line at Class AAA Tacoma, but he had 15 steals. Pass on him on FantasyScore for now.

Mariners | Logan Morrison demoted to seventh

Fri, 12 Jun 2015 15:11:23 -0700

Seattle Mariners 1B Logan Morrison is batting seventh against Houston Astros SP Brett Oberholtzer Friday, June 12. OF Austin Jackson is leading off and playing center field Friday.

Fantasy Tip: Morrison ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) is one game removed from a 16-game hitting streak, but while he hit first the past three games, he doesn't profile as your typical leadoff man. Morrison receives a slight value hit, but it is worth noting, much of his success during the hitting streak came batting lower in the order. Jackson's ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) fantasy value alters little. After all, he has spent the majority of the season leading off. Both hitters are worth considering for FantasyScore lineups, with Jackson presenting nice upside at his low cap hit.

Mariners | Austin Jackson homer wins game

Sun, 07 Jun 2015 04:06:43 -0700

Seattle Mariners OF Austin Jackson had a home run Saturday, June 6, to guide his team to a 2-1 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays. Jackson is hitting .390 with four doubles, a triple, a home run and four RBIs in his last 10 games.

Fantasy Tip: Jackson ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) has turned into a decent buy at his low price. He has been one of the bright spots in an otherwise dismal lineup that needed a bit of a shakeup. As long as his bat has some pop to it then Jackson is worth the money.

Mariners | Austin Jackson resting Friday

Fri, 05 Jun 2015 16:23:14 -0700

Seattle Mariners OF Austin Jackson is not in the starting lineup Friday, June 5. OF Dustin Ackley is starting in center field and hitting ninth in the batting order against Tampa Bay Rays SP Jake Odorizzi.

Fantasy Tip: Ackley ($2,200, 4.4% of cap) hasn't been useful all season at FantasyScore, and that shouldn't change tonight, especially while hitting last in the batting order against a pitcher that has been solid all season long.

Mariners | Logan Morrison back at leadoff

Wed, 03 Jun 2015 09:53:04 -0700

Seattle Mariners 1B Logan Morrison is back in the leadoff spot against New York Yankees SP Masahiro Tanaka Wednesday, June 3. OF Austin Jackson moves down a spot into the two-hole.

Fantasy Tip: Morrison ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) isn't the ideal leadoff hitter with a career on-base percentage of just .332. On the bright side, all six of his home runs this year are off righties, and Tanaka is making his first start off the DL. If anything, it'll give Morrison some extra chances to do damage at FantasyScore, but he still he's not a very safe pick.

Mon, 01 Jun 2015 16:15:00 -0700

Fantasy Tip: Jackson ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) has picked up at least one hit in six of seven games since coming off the 15-day disabled list. Owners on FantasyScore probably will be able to find better option to use for their lineups.

Mariners | Austin Jackson leading off

Tue, 26 May 2015 15:24:57 -0700

Seattle Mariners OF Austin Jackson (ankle) will start in center field and bat leadoff Tuesday, May 26, against the Tampa Bay Rays, in his return to the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Jackson ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) had five stolen bases in 25 games before being placed on the disabled list. Jackson will make for an excellent GPP option for as long as his price remains low.

Mariners | Austin Jackson off DL

Tue, 26 May 2015 04:41:00 -0700

Seattle Mariners OF Austin Jackson (ankle) came off the 15-day disabled list following the Monday, May 25, game against the Tampa Bay Rays. RP Danny Farquhar was sent to Class AAA Tacoma in a corresponding roster move.

Fantasy Tip: Jackson ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) will be a source of points with his bat and some speed, so put him back in your lineup. If you still feel hesitant, then wait a game or so before putting him in.
