Tigers | Ezequiel Carrera shows off wheels

Wed, 16 Jul 2014 18:04:04 -0700

Detroit Tigers OF Ezequiel Carrera started the Triple-A All-Star Game in Durham Wednesday, July 16, batting leadoff and starting in center field. He went 1-for-2 with a walk and two stolen bases.

Fantasy Tip: Carrera might get the call from the big club to inject a little speed into the offense, especially since reserve OF Andy Dirks (back) does not appear to be close to returning from back surgery anytime soon, if at all.

Thu, 02 May 2013 15:05:38 -0700

The Cleveland Indians claimed OF Ezequiel Carrera off waivers from the Philadelphia Phillies Thursday, May 2.

Fantasy Tip: Carrera finds himself back with Cleveland. He'll likely just serve as outfield depth. Both Michael Bourn (finger) and Nick Swisher (shoulder) are currently sidelined, but Ryan Raburn has filled in admirably. Bourn and Swisher should both be back soon, too.

Phillies | Slumping Ben Revere out of lineup

Thu, 25 Apr 2013 16:11:57 -0700

Philadelphia Phillies OF Ben Revere did not start Thursday, April 25, against the Pittsburgh Pirates for the first time this season. OF Ezequiel Carrera made the start in his absence and was hitless in four at-bats with a pair of strikeouts.

Fantasy Tip: Revere is batting just .207 on the season with 14 strikeouts in 87 at-bats. However, expect the Phillies to keep pushing him back out there, letting him try to hit his way out of the slump. His fantasy appeal is limited to NL-only formats right now, and he still has some worth in mixed rotisserie formats for his speed potential, although he is crushing owners in batting average.
