Tampa Bay Rays OF Sam Fuld (wrist) said his follow-up exam on his wrist went well. He could start swinging a bat in early June and may be ahead of schedule for a mid-August return.

Tampa Bay Rays OF Sam Fuld (wrist) will be examined Monday, April 2, to determine if he'll need surgery, which would come Tuesday, April 3. A surgery won't be season-ending, but he's unsure when he'd be able to return.

Tampa Bay Rays OF Sam Fuld (wrist) will seek a second opinion on his right wrist, and he is not expecting to be ready by opening day. MRI results showed that the sheath around the tendon in his wrist has been stretched, which means a tendon can slip out of place. "If I went the surgery route, I don't know the timetable, but I think I will be back at some point," Fuld said.

Updating a previous report, Tampa Bay Rays OF Sam Fuld (wrist) will have an MRI Monday, March 26. Fuld said his latest injury "possibly" might impact his availability for opening day.

Tampa Bay Rays OF Sam Fuld (wrist) left the Grapefruit League game Friday, March 23, due to a sore right wrist. The injury is the same one he dealt with last September, and the one which slowed him at the start of the spring.

Tampa Bay Rays OFs Sam Fuld (wrist) and Luke Scott (shoulder) both took batting practice Thursday, March 8. Fuld is ready to play Friday, March 9, but Scott was more tentative during BP and is "definitely not ready" for game action.
