Tampa Bay Rays manager Joe Maddon said OF Desmond Jennings (groin) may be dealing with a "bit of a sore groin," and the outfielder could sit out Saturday, May 11, as well as Friday, May 10. However, Maddon indicated the injury is minor.

Fantasy Tip: If it's just a couple days off, you shouldn't have anything to worry about. If not, Sam Fuld will be the player that benefits most. Fuld isn't flashy, but we've seen what he can do with steady playing before, and he could be a short-term boost in stolen bases if Jennings' injury winds up being worse than believed.

Tampa Bay Rays OF Sam Fuld (hamstring) had three at-bats in a minor league game Thursday, March 21, and he might play the outfield in a minor league game Friday, March 22.

Tampa Bay Rays OF Sam Fuld (hamstring) is expected to play in minor league games this weekend and he should be ready for opening day.

Fantasy Tip: Fuld is the club's fourth outfielder and shouldn't be owned outside of the deepest AL-only formats.

Tampa Bay Rays OF Sam Fuld (hamstring) has been bothered recently by tightness in his right hamstring but said he is not "overly concerned" about the injury. He expects to return to the lineup by the end of next week. Fuld said he experienced tightness near the same area of his hamstring last September.

The Tampa Bay Rays avoided arbitration with OF Sam Fuld Friday, Jan. 18, by agreeing to a one-year, $725,000 deal. Fuld made $489,000 last year.

Six players will be eligible for salary arbitration this winter under the league's new labor contract. The players include Washington Nationals RP Drew Storen, San Diego Padres SS Everth Cabrera, New York Mets C Josh Thole, Tampa Bay Rays OF Sam Fuld, Colorado Rockies OF Tyler Colvin and Arizona Diamondbacks 3B Chris D. Johnson. The top 22 percent of players by service time with at least two years but less than three are eligible along with 3-to-6 year players.
