Tampa Bay Rays OF Sam Fuld (wrist) is still nursing a sore right wrist. "(Fuld) still hasn't advanced to the point where you're good to see him hitting," manager Joe Maddon said. "But he's still going to play defense and run the bases."

Updating a previous report, Tampa Bay Rays OF Sam Fuld (wrist) said Wednesday, Sept. 14, that he strained a tendon swinging. X-rays were negative. Trainers told him he is considered day to day.

Tampa Bay Rays OF Justin Ruggiano, who was hitting .421 (8-for-19) in the five games entering Sunday, June 12, made his sixth straight start and hit in the third spot during that day's game. Manager Joe Maddon acknowledged that with the emergence of Ruggiano, OF Sam Fuld's playing time might diminish.
