Rangers | Rougned Odor not starting Sunday

Sun, 21 Jun 2015 10:33:27 -0700

Texas Rangers 2B Rougned Odor is not in the starting lineup against Chicago White Sox SP Jose Quintana Sunday, June 21. 2B Adam Rosales will start at second base and is batting fifth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Odor ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) may be sitting out because the team is facing a left-handed pitcher. Rosales ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) is hitting .200 this month and should probably be avoided by owners on FantasyScore.

Rangers | Joey Gallo out of the lineup

Sat, 20 Jun 2015 08:50:22 -0700

Texas Rangers 3B Joey Gallo is not in the starting lineup against Chicago White Sox SP Carlos Rodon Saturday, June 20. 2B Adam Rosales will start at third base and is batting sixth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Gallo ($5,000, 10.0% of cap) probably is sitting out since the team is facing a left-handed pitcher. Rosales ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) has only three hits in his last eight games and has not recorded an RBI since May 24. Owners on FantasyScore probably should look for other options to use.

Rangers | Mitch Moreland on the bench

Fri, 19 Jun 2015 14:53:36 -0700

Texas Rangers 1B Mitch Moreland is not in the starting lineup against Chicago White Sox SP Chris Sale Friday, June 19. 2B Adam Rosales will start at first base and is batting fifth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Moreland ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) probably is sitting out because the team is facing a left-handed pitcher. Rosales ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) has not seen much playing time this month but is batting .250. Owners on FantasyScore probably should be able to find better options to use.

Rangers | Adam Rosales starting Wednesday

Wed, 17 Jun 2015 16:08:20 -0700

Texas Rangers 2B Adam Rosales will make the start at third base Wednesday, June 17, against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Rosales will bat fifth in the order against LHP Clayton Kershaw. 3B Hanser Alberto comes out of the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Rosales ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) is hitting just .238 against southpaws this season, and he should be avoided against the reigning NL Cy Young winner.

Rangers | Joey Gallo out of lineup

Thu, 11 Jun 2015 11:23:47 -0700

Texas Rangers 3B Joey Gallo is not in the starting lineup against Oakland Athletics left-handed SP Scott Kazmir Thursday, June 11. 2B Adam Rosales is starting at the hot corner and hitting fifth.

Fantasy Tip: Rosales ($3,100, 6.2% of cap) is a utility infielder for Texas that doesn't have a whole lot of offensive upside despite three home runs in 77 at-bats this year. You'd be best off avoiding Rosales on FantasyScore.

Rangers | Joey Gallo as the DH

Wed, 03 Jun 2015 13:35:43 -0700

Texas Rangers 3B Joey Gallo will serve as the designated hitter and bat sixth in the order against Chicago White Sox SP Chris Sale Wednesday, June 3. 2B Adam Rosales is starting at third base and hitting fifth in the batting order.

Fantasy Tip: After an impressive major league debut in which he showcased his raw power last night, Gallo ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) is a high-risk, high-reward selection on FantasyScore score tonight against the southpaw Sale. Rosales ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) doesn't deserve much attention.

Rangers | Adrian Beltre out two weeks

Sun, 31 May 2015 15:47:03 -0700

Texas Rangers 3B Adrian Beltre (thumb) is expected to miss two weeks with a sprained and lacerated thumb he suffered Sunday, May 31, against the Boston Red Sox. 2B Adam Rosales replaced Beltre at third.

Fantasy Tip: Beltre ($5,200, 10.4% of cap) should be stashed away immediately until he is 100%. Rosales ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) should see plenty of playing time in Beltre's absence and should be a solid alternative. Joey Gallo, Beltre's presumed heir apparent at third, has played outfield in the minors; there is a chance Gallo could get called up but the team may want to leave him in the minors and keep his arbitration clock from starting.

Rangers | Tommy Field out of lineup Thursday

Thu, 28 May 2015 12:38:39 -0700

Texas Rangers 2B Thomas Field is not in the starting lineup Thursday, May 28, against the Boston Red Sox. 2B Adam Rosales is hitting eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Field ($2,800, 5.6% of cap), a righty, is out of the lineup as the Red Sox have lefty Eduardo Rodriguez on the hill. Rosales ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) has a .357 average with five hits, one home run and a stolen base in the past seven days. He is a decent start at this low cost.

Rangers | Thomas Field sitting out

Sun, 17 May 2015 09:58:56 -0700

Texas Rangers 2B Thomas Field is not in the starting lineup Sunday, May 17. 2B Adam Rosales will be the starting second baseman for the Rangers.

Fantasy Tip: Field ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) will receive his first day off since joining the team. Rosales ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) is hitting only .167 this season and is not a great option on FantasyScore.

Rangers | Rougned Odor sitting again

Fri, 08 May 2015 14:01:40 -0700

Texas Rangers 2B Rougned Odor is not in the starting lineup against the Tampa Bay Rays Friday, May 8. 2B Adam Rosales is batting eighth and playing second base Friday.

Fantasy Tip: Odor ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) is on the demotion brink, as he is currently hitting just .144 through 103 plate appearances. His seasonal ownership should be reserved to AL-only formats at this point. Rosales ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is worth a speculative add in AL-only and cavernous mixed leagues, however, FantasyScore players should aim higher. Rosales is 5-for-31 on the season, after all.
