Rangers | Thomas Field sitting out

Sun, 17 May 2015 09:58:56 -0700

Texas Rangers 2B Thomas Field is not in the starting lineup Sunday, May 17. 2B Adam Rosales will be the starting second baseman for the Rangers.

Fantasy Tip: Field ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) will receive his first day off since joining the team. Rosales ($2,100, 4.2% of cap) is hitting only .167 this season and is not a great option on FantasyScore.

Rangers | Rougned Odor sitting again

Fri, 08 May 2015 14:01:40 -0700

Texas Rangers 2B Rougned Odor is not in the starting lineup against the Tampa Bay Rays Friday, May 8. 2B Adam Rosales is batting eighth and playing second base Friday.

Fantasy Tip: Odor ($2,500, 5.0% of cap) is on the demotion brink, as he is currently hitting just .144 through 103 plate appearances. His seasonal ownership should be reserved to AL-only formats at this point. Rosales ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is worth a speculative add in AL-only and cavernous mixed leagues, however, FantasyScore players should aim higher. Rosales is 5-for-31 on the season, after all.

Rangers | Rougned Odor could be demoted

Mon, 04 May 2015 15:52:28 -0700

Texas Rangers 2B Rougned Odor, who is being benched Monday, May 4, is a candidate to have multiple days off or be demoted to the minors. Odor is in a 6-for-49 slump and is batting only .148 on the year, which is the fifth lowest qualifying batting average in the American League. 2B Adam Rosales replaced Odor Monday, May 4.

Fantasy Tip: Steer clear of Odor in all fantasy formats, including at FantasyScore, for the time being. In shallow mixed leagues, don't feel the need to keep him on your roster. Rosales ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) figures to play second more often with Odor struggling, but he's a low-end outfield target in daily games. Consider Rosales in really deep AL-only leagues if you own Odor or are hurting at a middle infield spot.

Rangers | Rougned Odor not starting

Mon, 04 May 2015 14:12:35 -0700

Texas Rangers 2B Rougned Odor is not in the starting lineup Monday, May 4. 2B Adam Rosales is starting at second base and hitting sixth in the batting order against Houston Astros SP Dallas Keuchel.

Fantasy Tip: Avoid Rosales ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) in all daily games Monday night. Keuchel comes into the game with an ERA under 1.00 on the season.

Rangers | Mitch Moreland scratched

Tue, 28 Apr 2015 14:47:15 -0700

Texas Rangers 1B Mitch Moreland (elbow) was scratched from the starting lineup Tuesday, April 28. 1B Adam Rosales gets the start in his place.

Fantasy Tip: Rosales ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) has four hits in only 20 at-bats this year. His limited experience and at-bats make him a weak play for FantasyScore users against Seattle Mariners starter J.A. Happ.

Rangers | Rougned Odor sitting Saturday

Sat, 25 Apr 2015 14:28:17 -0700

Texas Rangers 2B Rougned Odor is out of the lineup Saturday, April 25, against a left-handed starter. 2B Adam Rosales draws the start.

Fantasy Tip: Expect this to be a common theme for the left-handed hitting Odor. He's hitting .132 overall and is just 2-for-20 against lefties. At $2,500 (5.0% of your cap), he's not worth using on FantasyScore until his bat awakens. Rosales doesn't have much appeal either.

Rangers | Mitch Moreland scratched Friday

Fri, 17 Apr 2015 16:07:56 -0700

Texas Rangers 1B Mitch Moreland was scratched from the lineup Friday, April 17. 1B Adam Rosales will start at first base in his place and hit eighth in the batting order against Seattle Mariners SP J.A. Happ. OF Shin-Soo Choo has been moved up to fifth in the order.

Fantasy Tip: Rosales ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) already has a home run in a spot start this year and was successful against left-handers in 64 at-bats last year, with two of his four home runs coming against them. Rosales, however, remains a dice roll as a FantasyScore sleeper.

Rangers | Delino DeShields, Adam Rosales playing

Wed, 15 Apr 2015 09:47:14 -0700

Texas Rangers OF Delino DeShields Jr. and 1B Adam Rosales are both in the starting lineup against Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim SP Hector Santiago Wednesday, April 15. DeShields is starting in left field and hitting leadoff, while Rosales is playing first base and hitting seventh in the batting order.

Fantasy Tip: DeShields ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) and Rosales ($1,600) are both weak plays at FantasyScore Wednesday, but DeShields garners slightly more promise while hitting leadoff. A depleted Texas lineup today that's resting Shin-Soo Choo makes Santiago ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) slightly tempting as a cheap starter.

Rangers | Adam Rosales could see time at 1B

Sun, 15 Feb 2015 21:06:20 -0800

Texas Rangers 2B Adam Rosales could see time at first base this season if and when 1B Prince Fielder needs some rest.

Fantasy Tip: Rosales is much more useful in AL-only yearly leagues because of his positional versatility. In FantasyScore, he will only be worth using if he gets hot and can work his way into a regular role in the starting lineup.
