Cubs | Anthony Rizzo has struggled in SF

Tue, 25 Aug 2015 15:31:16 -0700

Chicago Cubs 1B Anthony Rizzo has a career .220 average playing against the San Francisco Giants on the road, and he is 2-for-18 in his career against SP Matt Cain, who he faces Tuesday, Aug. 25.

Fantasy Tip: It's probably safe to ignore Rizzo's ($6,000, 12.0% of cap) career numbers in San Fran and against Cain, who has really struggled since his return from the DL this year. The fact that Rizzo is a National League MVP candidate this year says it all, and he remains one of the better first base picks in daily formats.

Cubs | Anthony Rizzo on fire

Wed, 12 Aug 2015 12:44:15 -0700

Chicago Cubs 1B Anthony Rizzo is hitting .474 (18-for-39) with four home runs and 12 RBI in his last 11 games.

Fantasy Tip: Continue riding the hot hand on FantasyScore. More reason to use Rizzo ($6,200, 12.4% of cap): He has a home run and three RBI in 12 career-at bats against Garza.

Cubs | Anthony Rizzo notches four hits

Tue, 04 Aug 2015 19:55:32 -0700

Chicago Cubs 1B Anthony Rizzo went 4-for-5 with two runs and two doubles during the Cubs' 5-0 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates Tuesday, Aug. 4.

Fantasy Tip: Rizzo ($6,200, 12.4% of cap) is kicking a funk at the plate and sported a .200/.324/.217 slash line without a home run over the 17 games before Wednesday, July 29. Since, he has gone 12-for-24 with seven runs, three doubles, four home runs and 10 RBI over his past six games. He is a great FantasyScore play while hot.

Chicago Cubs 1B Anthony Rizzo homered for the fourth straight game, finishing 2-for-4 with three RBI and a run scored in a 4-2 win over the Milwaukee Brewers Saturday, Aug. 1.

Fantasy Tip: Rizzo ($5,900, 11.8% of cap) started slow after the All-Star break, but he has nine RBI and five runs scored during his homer streak. Until he cools off, keep paying for him at FantasyScore.

Cubs | Anthony Rizzo struggling at the plate

Sun, 26 Jul 2015 18:41:15 -0700

Chicago Cubs 1B Anthony Rizzo went 0-for-3 in an 11-5 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies Sunday, July 26, and he is 6-for-39 with three RBI since the All-Star break.

Fantasy Tip: Rizzo ($5,900, 11.8% of cap) still owns solid numbers for the year, but you can't afford to pay his price tag at FantasyScore while he is slumping.

Cubs | Anthony Rizzo hit by pitch again

Sun, 12 Jul 2015 19:47:22 -0700

Chicago Cubs 1B Anthony Rizzo was hit in the elbow but stayed in the game against the Chicago White Sox Sunday, July 12, and he has now been hit a major league-leading 19 times this year.

Fantasy Tip: Although Rizzo ($5,900, 11.8% of cap) owners have to be a little concerned about the chance of an injury with as often as he is being hit, his numbers haven't suffered. If you want to pay up for a first baseman at FantasyScore, Rizzo is a strong option.

Cubs | Starlin Castro, Anthony Rizzo could shine

Wed, 08 Jul 2015 15:17:40 -0700

Chicago Cubs SS Starlin Castro and 1B Anthony Rizzo are a combined 12-for-28 with four RBI in their career against St. Louis Cardinals SP Michael Wacha, who they face Wednesday, July 8.

Fantasy Tip: Castro ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) and Rizzo ($5,900, 11.8% of cap) both become a little more attractive on FantasyScore because of their history against Wacha, but it's still a very tough matchup tonight. Rizzo has more risk because of the higher price.

Cubs | Anthony Rizzo, Kris Bryant in derby

Wed, 08 Jul 2015 15:02:14 -0700

Chicago Cubs 1B Anthony Rizzo and 3B Kris Bryant will participate in the Home Run Derby during the All-Star break next week.

Fantasy Tip: Both Rizzo ($5,900, 11.8% of cap) and Bryant ($5,700, 11.4% of cap) are instrumental in daily success this year, as both have been able to get on base consistently and both possess big-time power to all fields. Their presence in the derby shouldn't decrease their fantasy value for the second half of the season.

Cubs | Anthony Rizzo not starting

Sun, 05 Jul 2015 10:58:13 -0700

Chicago Cubs 1B Anthony Rizzo is not in the starting lineup against Miami Marlins SP Mat Latos Sunday, July 5. OF Mike Baxter will start in first base and is batting seventh in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Rizzo ($5,900, 11.8% of cap) likely is receiving a day off and should return to the lineup soon. Baxter ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is hitting .265 in limited time this season, but owners on FantasyScore may want to look for better options to use.

Cubs | Anthony Rizzo laboring

Sat, 27 Jun 2015 16:30:36 -0700

Chicago Cubs 1B Anthony Rizzo (undisclosed) was grimacing on a swing-and-miss in the first inning Saturday, June 27.

Fantasy Tip: Rizzo was hit on the right forearm by a pitch Friday, and has it wrapped up. It's something to watch and could require a day off in the near future to rest.
