"He hasn't been back there, and I felt like maybe I didn't get into the rhythm I wanted to," Pettitte said of Romine. It was the most hits Pettitte had allowed since Sept. 24, 2010, against the Boston Red Sox.

This could mean he's headed to the DL after suffering elbow pain. He can be dropped in mixed formats if this is the case. Nuno had great numbers at Triple-A. He had a 1.54 ERA and 26 strikeouts to 2 walks in 23 1/3 innings over four starts. Scoop him up in AL-only leagues and watch him in mixed leagues.

Girardi noted that each backstop did "a nice job with their staff" this spring. Cervelli and Stewart are out of minor league options. Fantasy Tip: Mild prospect Austin Romine was also brought up earlier in the offseason as a candidate, but he was just sent to minor league camp and will be on call if they want to start his arbitration clock. He presents the most fantasy upside of this trio but is only a draft-day investment for AL-only pickers and an inseason free-agent target for two-catcher mixed leagues. Cervelli has a smidge more promise with the bat than Stewart, but neither should be on your dual-universe cheat sheet yet.
