The Associated Press reports a prosecutor has dropped a marijuana possession charge against free-agent FB Jameel Cook (Texans). The charge was dropped because there was insufficient evidence to show Cook knew there was marijuana in his car when he was pulled over in August. Cook still faces misdemeanor counts of driving with an invalid license, failure to maintain insurance, no front license plate, expired registration and expired inspection sticker.

Kevin Moran, of the Houston Chronicle, reports Houston Texans FB Jameel Cook was arrested Wednesday, Aug. 20, and charged with a misdemeanor after the police found a plastic bag containing two grams of marijuana, according the Fort Bend County sheriff's spokeswoman Terriann Carlson. He was released on a $500 personal recognizance bond.

John McClain, of the Houston Chronicle, reports Houston Texans rookie RB Wali Lundy will be the team's starting running back Sunday, Sept. 10, but RB Vernand Morency will also see plenty of action. "That'll be the two starters," head coach Gary Kubiak said referring to Lundy and starting FB Jameel Cook. "Of course, (Vernand) Morency is going to play a great deal. Lundy and Morency are basically going to split time, with Wali probably playing a bit more."

"I like to be in my playbook and I like to know everybody's position — receivers, tailbacks, offensive line, quarterback, tight ends," Cook said. "And if you know everybody like that, the offense comes easy to you." He is also becoming known as the vocal leader of the offense.

Stewart claims Cook owes him $11,000 in for his legal fees and $18,500 for his former wife's legal bills. Cook agreed to pay for her, but claimed the Buccaneers hadn't paid him at the time.
