New York Mets OF Yoenis Cespedes is out of the lineup Thursday, July 28, with 3B Wilmer Flores hitting third.

Fantasy Tip: Flores has a .333-6-13 line in 60 at-bats against lefties. He's an attractive option against lefty Tyler Anderson.

Fantasy Tip: Reyes should be reserved in all fantasy leagues until he can officially return and prove his health in at least a full game or two without any setbacks before trusting him again.

Mets | Jose Reyes to miss a few days

Wed, 27 Jul 2016 13:26:39 -0700

Updating a previous report, New York Mets 3B Jose Reyes (intercostal) is hopeful to only miss a few days because of his strained left intercostal. INF Wilmer Flores will start at third base in the meantime, according to manager Terry Collins.

Fantasy Tip: Seasonal owners should prepare to be without Reyes into the weekend and potentially longer. He is worth stashing in most settings during his absence. Flores has been scorching hot in July, and he should be owned and started in the majority of leagues until Reyes returns, and potentially longer.

Mets | No Jose Reyes vs. Cards

Wed, 27 Jul 2016 12:22:31 -0700

New York Mets 3B Jose Reyes (intercostal) is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, July 27. INF Wilmer Flores is starting at third base and batting sixth against St. Louis Cardinals SP Adam Wainwright Wednesday.

Fantasy Tip: While Flores has done most of his damage against southpaws this season (1.068 OPS), he's also sporting a .340/.382/.800 slash line in July. Flores should be owned in the majority of seasonal leagues at this point, especially with his positional versatility. Reyes is 16-for-67 (.239 batting average) to start his second tenure with the Mets, but he also has a .493 slugging percentage, so he remains a viable stash in all leagues while nursing the minor injury.

Mets | Three Mets players to sit out

Tue, 26 Jul 2016 16:48:59 -0700

OF Juan Lagares will start in center field and is batting first in the lineup against Cardinals SP Jaime Garcia. SS Wilmer Flores will start at third base and is batting fourth, while OF Alejandro De Aza will start in right field and is batting seventh.

Fantasy Tip: Lagares, Flores and De Aza have all struggled at the plate over the last seven days and should not be considered by owners in most mixed leagues.

Mets | Wilmer Flores starting vs. Miami

Fri, 22 Jul 2016 12:42:02 -0700

New York Mets INF Wilmer Flores is starting at first base and batting fourth against Miami Marlins SP Adam Conley Friday, July 22. Mets 1B James Loney is not in the starting lineup Friday.

Fantasy Tip: Flores is scorching hot and pushing for more playing time with an active 14-for-34 run at the plate that's yielded nine runs, seven home runs and 13 RBI. He should be owned in all deep mixed and NL-only leagues. Loney is nothing more than a fringe starter in cavernous mixed and NL-only leagues, and he could begin to lose starts to Flores.

Mets | Asdrubal Cabrera sitting vs. Cubs

Wed, 20 Jul 2016 09:08:18 -0700

New York Mets SS Asdrubal Cabrera is not in the starting lineup Wednesday, July 20. INF Wilmer Flores draws into the starting lineup at third base and is batting third against Chicago Cubs SP Kyle Hendricks Wednesday.

Fantasy Tip: Cabrera is having a respectable season with 39 runs, 13 home runs, 31 RBI and a .266/.321/.432 slash line and should be viewed as a low-end starter in deep mixed and NL-only leagues. Flores is hitting when receiving the chance and owns a .290/.344/.510 slash line with 19 runs, eight home runs and 24 RBI since the calendar flipped to May. He's worth owning in deeper settings to plug in when he's in the lineup. Flores is also a viable flier in daily contests Wednesday.

Mets | Wilmer Flores draws in at first base

Mon, 18 Jul 2016 13:03:53 -0700

New York Mets INF Wilmer Flores is starting at first base and batting fifth against Chicago Cubs SP Jon Lester Monday, July 18. 1B James Loney is not in the starting lineup Monday.

Fantasy Tip: With an excellent .300/.364/.580 slash line against southpaws this season, Flores is a strong fantasy option in all formats Monday, including daily contests. He's receiving enough playing time to be a low-end starter in deep mixed leagues, and he should be owned and started in all cavernous mixed and NL-only formats. Loney is best viewed as a desperation starter in similar deep seasonal leagues.
