Updating a previous report, Texas Rangers manager Ron Washington said SP Neftali Feliz (elbow) will not be guaranteed a spot in the starting rotation when he comes off the disabled list. Feliz said he believes he will be back in the rotation when he returns.

Texas Rangers CEO Nolan Ryan said at a charity function Thursday, May 24, that SP Neftali Feliz (elbow) is likely to go back to the bullpen when he returns from the disabled list.

Texas Rangers assistant general manager Thad Levine said SP Neftali Feliz (elbow) will not do any throwing for the next month because of his injured elbow and then will begin a program to build arm strength. Feliz may not be able to return until after the All-Star Break.

The Texas Rangers will place SP Neftali Feliz (elbow) on the 15-day disabled list with an elbow injury. Feliz underwent an MRI Monday, May 21, but the results are not known at this time. The team will recall RP Yoshinori Tateyama from Triple-A Round Rock.

Texas Rangers SP Neftali Feliz struggled with the location of his pitches Friday, May 18, against the Houston Astros. He allowed three hits, one run and five walks in 4 2/3 innings - his shortest start of the year. "It all comes down to, he just couldn't command the baseball and he just couldn't find the rhythm that he needed," manager Ron Washington said.

The Texas Rangers may move SP Yu Darvish from the fourth spot up to the third spot between SPs Derek Holland and Matt Harrison. The team wants to protect its bullpen; by moving Darvish up, the Rangers would also have a lefty between Darvish and SP Neftali Feliz.
