Steve Gilbert, of Diamondbacks.MLB.com, reports Arizona Diamondbacks Class A Yakima OF Joel Melendez was arrested and charged with third–degree rape Wednesday, July 25, in Salem, Ore. Melendez, 21, was charged with having sex with a 15-year old girl, and Lt. Dave Okada of the Salem Police Department told The Associated Press that there was no force involved. Melendez has been placed on the restricted list by the Diamondbacks.
