Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Mike Trout was among 10 players cut and reassigned to minor league camp, according to Dan Woike of The Orange County Register. Also sent down were P's Trevor Reckling and Loek Van Mil; OF's Angel Castillo, Jeremy Moore, and Travis Witherspoon; and IF's Gabe Jacobo, Efren Navarro, Darwin Perez and Jean Segura.

Angels | Reckling shut down due to injury

Bill Plunkett, of the Orange County Register, reports Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim P Trevor Reckling (oblique) was pulled from a World Cup game Saturday, Sept. 26, after feeling some discomfort in his oblique muscle. The injury does not appear to be significant. He will not pitch again until next spring.

The Los Angeles Times reports Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim P prospect Trevor Reckling scattered three hits over seven shutout innings, striking out 11, to lead Team USA to an 8-0 win over China in the final game of pool play Saturday, Sept. 12, at the IBAF World Cup of baseball in Regensburg, Germany. The 11 strikeouts is a record for a U.S. pitcher in World Cup play.
