Indians | Corey Kluber finishes with a gem

Sun, 04 Oct 2015 07:05:30 -0700

Cleveland Indians SP Corey Kluber threw eight scoreless innings while striking out nine batters during Cleveland's 2-0 win over the Boston Red Sox Saturday, Oct. 3.

Fantasy Tip: Kluber's ($8,600, 17.2% of cap) results never showcased how well he pitched this season (2.97 FIP for the year), as he returned a 3.49 ERA, a 1.05 WHIP and a 9.9 K/9. Perhaps, most disappointing for seasonal owners was the ace being limited to just nine wins on the campaign. Peg Kluber somewhere between his 2014 and 2015 numbers, and view him as a high-end No. 2 starter with the upside to be a fantasy ace in 2016.

Indians | Corey Kluber has owned Twins

Wed, 23 Sep 2015 11:19:53 -0700

Cleveland Indians SP Corey Kluber is 4-1 with a 2.01 ERA with 28 hits allowed, eight walks and 54 strikeouts in six starts (49 1/3 innings) against the Minnesota Twins since 2014. Kluber faces the Twins Wednesday, Sept. 23. In his last two starts against Minnesota, Kluber has allowed four hits and two earned runs while striking out 17 and walking just two in 18 innings.

Fantasy Tip: Despite Kluber's ($8,600, 17.2% of cap) excellent numbers against the Twins in recent memory, it's still only his second start after returning from a hamstring injury, attaching much more risk than normal to his high FantasyScore salary. You may want to fade him tonight.

Indians | Short night for Corey Kluber

Thu, 17 Sep 2015 20:20:55 -0700

Cleveland Indians SP Corey Kluber (hamstring) returned from the disabled list and allowed two earned runs and struck out five over four innings in a no-decision against the Kansas City Royals Thursday, Sept. 17.

Fantasy Tip: Kluber ($8,600, 17.2% of cap) was making his first start since Aug. 29, and the Indians played it safe with their ace, limiting him to 61 pitches. Avoid him at FantasyScore until he is no longer on any type of pitch count.

Indians | Trevor Bauer headed to bullpen

Thu, 17 Sep 2015 19:09:41 -0700

As a result of Cleveland Indians SP Corey Kluber (hamstring) returning to the starting rotation, SP Trevor Bauer has been demoted to the bullpen for now, according to manager Terry Francona. However, the team hasn't ruled out having Bauer make several more starts before the end of the season.

Fantasy Tip: In 12 starts since the All-Star break, Bauer ($5,200, 10.4% of cap) has gone 3-7 with a 6.32 ERA. He has only recorded two victories in his last seven outings and hasn't gone past the fourth inning four times during that stretch. He can be ignored in FantasyScore as long as he isn't starting but wouldn't make a great option if he were called upon for a spot start either.

Indians | Corey Kluber to start Thursday

Tue, 15 Sep 2015 14:25:28 -0700

Cleveland Indians SP Corey Kluber (hamstring) did some infield work Tuesday, Sept. 15, and he's been cleared to start against the Kansas City Royals Thursday, Sept. 17. Manager Terry Francona said Kluber "did fine" during his workout. He hasn't pitched since Aug. 29 but threw two bullpen sessions recently.

Fantasy Tip: Kluber ($8,600, 17.2% of cap) still has elite starter stuff despite what his record might show this year. He's a much riskier daily commodity tonight in his first start coming off an injury against a scary Royals team.

Indians | Corey Kluber set for Thursday start

Mon, 14 Sep 2015 13:20:48 -0700

Cleveland Indians SP Corey Kluber (hamstring) is expected to start against the Kansas City Royals Thursday, Sept. 17.

Fantasy Tip: While the injury isn't arm related, Kluber ($9,300, 18.6% of cap) still carries a modest injury risk for his start Thursday. It also isn't an ideal matchup on the road against a solid team. Kluber has been a touch inconsistent this season, too. View him as a high-risk, high-reward play at FantasyScore Thursday.

Indians | Corey Kluber could start Thursday

Sun, 13 Sep 2015 20:53:45 -0700

Cleveland Indians SP Corey Kluber (hamstring) could start Thursday, Sept. 17, against the Kansas City Royals, but a final decision hasn't been made.

Fantasy Tip: Kluber ($9,300, 18.6% of cap) has been a strikeout machine this season, but he is still a risky option at FantasyScore if he returns against a tough Kansas City lineup.

Indians | No timetable for Corey Kluber

Sat, 12 Sep 2015 18:37:51 -0700

Cleveland Indians SP Corey Kluber (hamstring) still isn't fully recovered, and it remains unclear when he will make his next start, manager Terry Francona said Saturday, Sept. 12.

Fantasy Tip: Kluber ($9,300, 18.6% of cap) is one of the top options at FantasyScore when healthy, but the Indians aren't going to rush their ace and risk further injury.

Indians | Corey Kluber throws bullpen session

Fri, 11 Sep 2015 14:08:48 -0700

Cleveland Indians SP Corey Kluber (hamstring) threw a bullpen session and "felt good," according to manager Terry Francona. Francona, Kluber and the medical staff will meet to determine the next step for Kluber Saturday, Sept. 12.

Fantasy Tip: Seasonal owners will want to keep a close eye on what becomes of the round-table discussion Saturday. Kluber ($9,300, 18.6% of cap) is worth stashing in all formats, but time is also running out for the strikeout artist to return any fantasy numbers. Those in need of help in the now shouldn't completely rule out adding immediate help, especially with Kluber's status in limbo.

Indians | Corey Kluber eager to return to the mound

Wed, 09 Sep 2015 15:56:31 -0700

Cleveland Indians SP Corey Kluber (hamstring) is "champing at the bit" to return to the mound, according to manager Terry Francona. Kluber is scheduled to run Thursday, Sept. 10, and then throw a bullpen session soon after.

Fantasy Tip: Kluber ($9,300, 18.6% of cap) is worth stashing in all formats, and it seems like he should return sooner than later. However, you'll want to keep tabs on his timeline because time is running out to make an impact, especially considering there is an added injury risk now accompanying his season-long inconsistency.
