Indians | Corey Kluber cramps up

Mon, 18 Jul 2016 23:35:10 -0700

Cleveland Indians SP Corey Kluber (calf) allowed five hits and three walks with eight strikeouts over seven scoreless innings Monday, July 18, against the Kansas City Royals. He suffered a cramp in his right calf before departing after 95 pitches. "I don't think cramps are serious, but I don't know how he's going to push off the rubber," manager Terry Francona said.

Fantasy Tip: As soon as Kluber left, it got worse, as the Indians' bullpen blew a 3-0 lead and Kluber's win for fantasy owners, too. He'll be re-evaluated Tuesday and we'll know more about his status for his next scheduled start over the weekend.

Indians | Corey Kluber fans eight in win

Fri, 08 Jul 2016 19:08:31 -0700

Cleveland Indians SP Corey Kluber allowed one run on five hits while striking out eight in a win over the New York Yankees Friday, July 8.

Fantasy Tip: Kluber lasted just 3 1/3 innings against the Blue Jays in his last outing, but he was locked in against the Yankees. His strikeout potential gives him a lot of upside in DFS formats, but he has been a high-risk, high-reward option.

Yankees | A-Rod out of Friday lineup

Fri, 08 Jul 2016 13:01:58 -0700

New York Yankees 3B Alex Rodriguez is not in the starting lineup Friday, July 8, against the Cleveland Indians. OF Carlos Beltran will handle designated hitter duties and bat third against Indians SP Corey Kluber. 2B Rob Refsnyder is in right field and will bat ninth.

Fantasy Tip: With Beltran able to DH against righties, Rodriguez can take a seat. Beltran (.293-19-54) is a must play in all formats, and Refsnyder has six hits in his last seven games and could be a low-cost flyer in DFS formats.

Indians | Corey Kluber struggles again

Sun, 03 Jul 2016 15:17:02 -0700

Cleveland Indians SP Corey Kluber fell to 8-8 overall after a 17-1 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays on Sunday, July 3. Kluber gave up five runs on seven hits in 3 1/3 innings, his second-shortest outing this year.

Fantasy Tip: This is a far cry from the Kluber of a couple years ago. That has to be the big question: What happened to him? Right now, even though the Indians are doing quite well in the standings, Kluber just can't be trusted in many formats.

Cleveland Indians SP Corey Kluber is 3-1 with a 2.17 ERA and 30 strikeouts to only six walks in 29 innings in four June starts.

Fantasy Tip: The Klubot is quite attractive tonight against the Atlanta Braves. He should be one of the top SPs to consider in DFS.

Indians | Corey Kluber in a groove this month

Wed, 15 Jun 2016 14:40:15 -0700

Cleveland Indians SP Corey Kluber has given up just two earne3d runs while striking out 14 and walking three in 15 innings over his two starts in June. He's allowed a total of three earned runs in his last three starts (1.42 ERA) against the Kansas City Royals, who he faces Wednesday, June 15.

Fantasy Tip: After a frustrating start to the campaign, it looks like the Klubot is finally starting to round into form. He's more of a No. 2 fantasy starter at this point, but as he's done so far this month, he's capable of posting ace-like numbers for stretches. He should be in your lineups this evening against KC.

Indians | Corey Kluber throws complete game

Sat, 11 Jun 2016 00:22:53 -0700

Cleveland Indians SP Corey Kluber surrendered just two runs on three hits in a complete game victory over the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim on Friday, June 10. Kluber walked one and struck out eight to even his record at 6-6.

Fantasy Tip: Kluber was staked to an early lead and cruised to an easy win. It was his fourth quality start in his last five and, not coincidentally, his fourth win as well. In this latest five-game stretch, the former Cy Young Award winner is 4-1 with a 2.73 ERA and a 0.85 WHIP. He also has 35 K's in 36 1/3 innings. Kluber should be in your active lineup each time he takes the hill.
