I'm the kind of guy who likes to let people know when things are lingering." MRI exams came back negative on his side. Barney is hitting .417 (8-for-19) with three doubles, a triple and seven RBIs this spring.

"He's a lot stronger and a lot quicker than I thought. His first step is really good. He's still learning second base, and there are some things I've talked to him about around the bag." Barney has regained the weight he lost last season and now weighs 190 pounds.
