Tampa Bay Rays SP Matt Moore (elbow) is scheduled to face live hitters Sunday, May 3, for the first time since undergoing Tommy John surgery. After throwing three batting practice or simulated game sessions, he will probably be cleared to begin a minor league rehab assignment. Moore is hoping to make no more than four rehab starts before being activated from the disabled list.
Fantasy Tip: If all goes well, Moore could resume pitching in the majors by the middle of June. He's worthy of being stashed in most fantasy baseball formats so if he's available in the free-agent pool of your league, grab him.

Tampa Bay Rays SP Matt Moore (elbow) could throw batting practice in early May.
Fantasy Tip: Moore could return to the Rays rotation around the All-Star break. He'll immediately jump into the rotation, though, so he's worth stashing in most fantasy baseball formats. If he's out there in your league and you have the room on your squad, stash him away.

Tampa Bay Rays SP Matt Moore (elbow) said things are going really well with his recovery from Tommy John surgery Thursday, April 23.
Fantasy Tip: Moore is still a long way from helping fantasy owners. Still, he is worth stashing in the majority of formats, as he projects to return around the All-Star break. Continue to check back for updates on his recovery and a timeline for his return. It isn't always a smooth transition back to the mound after Tommy John surgery, though. So keep your expectations in check.

Tampa Bay Rays SP Matt Moore (elbow) threw 29 fastballs in a bullpen session that went well Tuesday, Feb. 24. Moore is recovering from Tommy John surgery and is targeting a return sometime in June. Moore also threw changeups off flat ground Tuesday.
Fantasy Tip: Moore will obviously come at an injury discount this year, but he's probably not worth pursuing in standard leagues. However, in very deep mixed leagues, you may want to take a chance on him as a late-round flier if you can stash him in a DL spot. Remember, though, that starters often struggle with velocity and control issues immediately upon returning from TJS, so Moore probably won't be back to peak form until next season.
