John Clayton, of ESPN.com, reports the Detroit Lions terminated the contract of CB Brian Kelly Tuesday, Dec. 9, according to a source. The Lions apparently wanted to use younger cornerbacks during their final three games.

Cotsonika, of the Detroit Free Press, reports Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Joe Barry said CB Brian Kelly did not play in the team's Week 5 game because he wanted to give playing time to CB Keith Smith and as the game progress, Kelly just did not get into the game. Barry said Kelly will play in the team's Week 6 game.
