The Arizona Diamondbacks optioned SP Trevor Bauer to Double-A Mobile and optioned Ps Sam Demel and Barry Enright and OF David Winfree to Triple-A Reno. Ps Chris Jakubauskas and Charles Brewer and INFs Rusty Ryal and Matt Davidson were also re-assigned.

The Arizona Diamondbacks have agreed to terms with Ps Sam Demel, Barry Enright, Dan Hudson, Zach Kroenke, Brett Lorin, Wade Miley, Yonata Ortega, Joe Paterson, Bryan Shaw and Michael Zagurski, Cs Konrad Schmidt and Craig Tatum, OFs Cole Gillespie and David Winfree and 1B Paul Goldschmidt on one-year deals. They also renewed the contracts of SPs Josh Collmenter and Ian Kennedy, RP David Hernandez and OF Gerardo Parra. These moves mean that all players on the 40-man roster are now under contract for the 2012 season.

The Arizona Diamondbacks activated 3B Geoff Blum (pinkie) and RP Alberto Castillo (shoulder) from the disabled list Thursday, Sept. 1, and recalled Ps Ryan Cook and Sam Demel.

Arizona Diamondbacks RPs Alberto Castillo, Yhency Brazoban and Aaron Heilman are all considered options to serve as the setup man to RP David Hernandez with RP J.J. Putz (elbow) on the DL. RPs Sam Demel is likely to be used more in the sixth inning.

The Arizona Diamondbacks placed RP J.J. Putz (elbow) on the 15-day disabled list Friday, July 1, with right elbow tendonitis. RP Sam Demel (shoulder) was activated from the DL in a corresponding move.

Fantasy Tip: Given Putz's history of elbow issues, this could be an extended absence, but we'll keep you posted as more information surfaces. In all leagues, grab David Hernandez, the likely replacement for saves. If you miss out on him, throw a flier on Demel.

Arizona Diamondbacks RP Sam Demel (shoulder) allowed two earned runs, two hits and two walks in his inning of work in his second minor league rehab appearance Saturday, June 25, with Triple-A Reno. He might be activated from the 15-day disabled list as soon as early next week.

Arizona Diamondbacks RP Sam Demel (shoulder) is expected to pitch Thursday, June 23, and Saturday, June 25, with Triple-A Reno, and then he'll be re-evaluated after that.

Arizona Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson said RP Sam Demel (shoulder) is set to face live hitters Monday, June 20. RP Juan Gutierrez (shoulder) is just a few days behind Demel in his rehab.

Arizona Diamondbacks RP Sam Demel (shoulder) cut his bullpen session short Sunday, June 12, because he could not get his shoulder loose. Demel threw off flat ground after his session was stopped. He is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Tuesday, June 14.
