Blue Jays | Josh Donaldson has calf issue

Fri, 22 May 2015 14:11:05 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays 3B Josh Donaldson (calf), who is taking the day off Friday, May 22, has been playing on a "bad calf," according to manager John Gibbons.

Fantasy Tip: Donaldson's ($5,800, 11.6% of cap) appears minor, and he should be fine to return to the lineup tomorrow. Danny Valencia ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) has been playing well for the Jays, hitting .339 (20-for-59) with a home run and 10 RBI, but he should be avoided tonight at FantasyScore in a matchup against Seattle Mariners star Felix Hernandez.

Blue Jays | Josh Donaldson out of lineup Friday

Fri, 22 May 2015 11:34:13 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays 3B Josh Donaldson is not in the starting lineup Friday, May 22. Danny Valencia is at third base and is hitting seventh.

Fantasy Tip: Donaldson ($5,800, 11.6% of cap) has not had a single day off this season, so no better time than now to do it. Valencia ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) has been a fairly successful low-cost alternative, with a .350 average (7-for-20) and one home run in his last six games.

Blue Jays | Josh Donaldson has owned lefties

Tue, 19 May 2015 09:55:13 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays 3B Josh Donaldson has a .967 career OPS against left-handed pitchers. However, he has just one hit in 13 career at-bats against the starter Tuesday, May 19, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim SP Hector Santiago.

Fantasy Tip: Regardless of Donaldson's ($5,800, 11.6% of cap) career numbers against Santiago in a small sample size, he should still be a safe and solid option at FantasyScore tonight.

Blue Jays | Josh Donaldson leading off

Mon, 18 May 2015 07:40:47 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays 3B Josh Donaldson is leading off Monday, May 18.

Fantasy Tip: We're not fans of this for his FantasyScore value. Donaldson ($5,800, 11.6% of cap) is hitting .307-8-25 this season and loses but loses some luster today.

Blue Jays | Josh Donaldson setting the table

Fri, 01 May 2015 13:28:04 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays 3B Josh Donaldson is batting leadoff and playing third base against the Cleveland Indians Friday, May 1.

Fantasy Tip: With Jose Reyes and Devon Travis out of the lineup, Donaldson ($5,800, 11.2% of cap) is apparently the next best option to lead off for the Jays. It really doesn't impact Donaldson significantly, although, the players who will bat in front of him at the bottom of the order before his second trip to the plate aren't likely to provide him many RBI opportunities. While it isn't a deal breaker, it could be a factor in a coin-flip decision. Continue to view Donaldson as a top-tier option at the hot corner for FantasyScore contests.

Blue Jays | Josh Donaldson hitting second

Tue, 28 Apr 2015 11:59:57 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays 3B Josh Donaldson is in the two-hole against Boston Red Sox SP Clay Buchholz Tuesday, April 28.

Fantasy Tip: Donaldson ($5,700, 11.4% of cap) has been swinging a hot stick in 2015 (.333, four home runs, 14 RBI), and he's even more intriguing right at the top of the Blue Jays lineup, although he may lose out on some RBI chances. Consider him a strong FantasyScore play this evening.

Blue Jays | Josh Donaldson mashes home run

Thu, 23 Apr 2015 18:06:43 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays 3B Josh Donaldson hit a 469 foot home run Thursday, April 23, against the Baltimore Orioles. It was the longest home run of Donaldson's career by 21 feet.

Fantasy Tip: Donaldson ($5,700, 11.4% of cap) now has four home runs in his last six games after not hitting his first with the Blue Jays until April 16. Donaldson entered the game hitting .322 on the season, and is certainly living up to his high expectations.

Blue Jays | Danny Valencia starting at 3B

Sat, 18 Apr 2015 08:28:01 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays 3B Danny Valencia will start at third base against the Atlanta Braves Saturday, April 18, since 3B Josh Donaldson is serving as the designated hitter.

Fantasy Tip: Valencia ($1,900, 3.8% of cap) has received limited plate appearances this season and has two hits in his six at bats. Owners on FantasyScore likely will be able to find better options to use.

Blue Jays | Josh Donaldson heating up

Fri, 17 Apr 2015 20:32:59 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays 3B Josh Donaldson hit his first two home runs of the season against the Atlanta Braves Friday, April 17, and he is 8-for-17 with five runs scored and six RBIs over his last four games.

Fantasy Tip: Donaldson ($5,700, 11.4% of cap) has raised his average from .192 to .302 during the stretch, and after a slow start, Donaldson is thriving with his new team. Stick with Donaldson's hot bat at FantasyScore until he gives you reason to look elsewhere.

Blue Jays | Josh Donaldson batting second

Wed, 15 Apr 2015 13:04:22 -0700

Toronto Blue Jays 3B Josh Donaldson is batting second in the starting lineup against the Tampa Bay Rays Wednesday, April 15.

Fantasy Tip: Donaldson ($5,700, 11.4% of cap) has been batting fifth but moved up to the No. 2 spot since Russell Martin is not playing. He should be a solid starting option on FantasyScore since is off to a 7-for-30 start at the plate.
