Paul Sheehy, of ProStar, has confirmed to KFFL that the Kansas City Chiefs have signed free agent WR Yo Murphy (Rams) to a two-year deal. Financial terms have not been disclosed.

The Post-Dispatch reports in addition to the previously reported OT Orlando Pace (ankle), St. Louis Rams DT Damione Lewis (foot surgery) and S Rich Coady (ankle) will sit out this weekend's mini-camp. DT Jeff Zgonina (elbow) and WR Yo Murphy (quad tendon) will be limited. S Steve Bellisari and LB Courtland Bullard, both from Ohio State, will be out because under NFL rules rookies can't participate until their college class has graduated.

According to the Post-Dispatch, St. Louis Rams LB Dustin Cohen and WR/KR Yo Murphy had off-season knee surgery. Cohen had his knee flushed out in an arthroscopic procedure while Murphy had a small tear in his quad tendon "sewed up." According to head trainer Jim Anderson, Murphy also had some "wear and tear" stuff done.

The Associated Press reports St. Louis Rams head coach Mike Martz said WR/KR Yo Murphy again will get the kickoff return duties over Trung Canidate in the regular-season finale Sunday against Atlanta. Murphy had five returns for a 21-yard average, just a bit better than Canidate's 20.8-yard average.

The Post-Dispatch reports St. Louis Rams coach Mike Martz said RB Trung Canidate has not fallen out of favor with him. Martz said it's the critical time of the year and that RB Marshall Faulk has to get as many touches as possible. Canidate has even been replaced on kickoff returns by WR Yo Murphy. "Trung had never returned kickoffs (before) this year and I know that Yo had returned kicks and done an outstanding job," Martz said. "We can mix them in there, probably. Either one of those guys is fine. I think they'll both do a good job."

The Post-Dispatch reports St. Louis Rams backup S Rich Coady (ankle) is OUT this weekend (previously reported) and WR/PR Az-Zahir Hakim (sore back) missed the final one-third of Friday's practice. If Hakim can't go, cornerback Dre' Bly would return punts with wide receiver Yo Murphy backing him up. The rest of the team practiced well earlier today. CB Aeneas Williams (thigh bruise) and WR Isaac Bruce (sprained foot) returned to practice as did RB Marshall Faulk (bursa sac problem in his knee). Faulk looked solid Friday.

The Post-Dispatch's Jim Thomas reports St. Louis Rams CB Jacoby Shepherd and WR Yo Murphy got into a heated punch-throwing, facemask-grabbing scuffle Thursday at practice. Coach Mike Martz responded by tossing them from practice. Martz was not happy with either player.

The Post-Dispatch reports St. Louis Rams starting LB London Fletcher (hamstring), C Frank Garcia (toe), starting DE Grant Wistrom (knee), and rookie TE Brandon Manumaleuna (ankle) are questionable for the team's game on opening day against the Eagles. Two players who played Friday despite tight hamstrings, CB Jacoby Shepherd and WR Yo Murphy, are fine. G Cameron Spikes, who slightly injured his sternum Friday night, should also be fine.
