Cincinnati Reds SP Homer Bailey (elbow) was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a flexor mass strain in his right elbow. SP Dylan Axelrod was recalled from Triple-A Louisville.
Fantasy Tip: Place Bailey on your DL spot as he should be able to return before the season is over. Axelrod is an NL-only depth claim.

Cincinnati Reds SP Dylan Axelrod, as expected, will be called up from Triple-A Louisville to start against the Colorado Rockies Saturday, Aug. 16, in place of SP Homer Bailey (elbow). Axelrod is 2-1 with a 3.06 ERA in five starts since joining Louisville.
Fantasy Tip: It's unknown if Axelrod will have an extended audition in the starting rotation with Bailey out. Regardless, he's not a wise choice to start in daily leagues tomorrow against Colorado.

Cincinnati Reds SP Dylan Axelrod is expected to start Saturday, Aug. 16.
Fantasy Tip: The Reds are facing the Colorado Rockies this weekend at Coors Field. The Rockies are without two of their best players for the rest of the season - Troy Tulowitzki (hip) and Carlos Gonzalez (knee) - but they can still be dangerous at home. We wouldn't recommend streaming Axelrod in this matchup.

Cincinnati Reds SP Homer Bailey (elbow) is headed to the 15-day disabled list with a flexor mass injury in his right elbow. He won't require surgery, and he's expected to return this season.
Fantasy Tip: Tony Cingrani (shoulder) has just begun a throwing program, so he won't be ready to take the vacant spot for a while. Scott Diamond or Dylan Axelrod could come up and take the spot. Both are just NL-only depth options.

Chicago White Sox SPs Chris Sale, John Danks, Hector Santiago and Jose Quintana are now scheduled to face the Houston Astros from Friday, June 14, through Monday, June 17. The club's game on Wednesday, June 12, against the Toronto Blue Jays was postponed, and the White Sox have off on Thursday, June 13, so they have elected to skip SP Dylan Axelrod.
Fantasy Tip: The ChiSox may just be taking advantage of the chance to give Axelrod some extra rest after he was thrashed in his start on Monday. Perhaps Santiago has a legit chance to move ahead of Axelrod in the pecking order now, although that's of little importance for the foreseeable future.

Chicago White Sox SP John Danks (shoulder) will come off the 15-day disabled list to make his first start in more than a year against the Miami Marlins Friday, May 24. Danks had surgery last August to fix his rotator cuff and biceps. He made four rehab starts in the minors, and manager Robin Ventura will let Danks go deep into the game if he can. The team will decide in the next few days whether to remove SPs Dylan Axelrod or Hector Santiago from the rotation to make room for Danks. RP Donnie Veal was optioned to Triple-A Charlotte to make room on the roster.
Fantasy Tip: His first start couldn't come against a better team for owners looking for at least a spot start. Relying on Danks full time, at least initially, might be a mistake, though, unless you're in an AL-only league. If he proves that his dive last season was purely injury-related, he might be worth stashing in deep mixed leagues.
