Dodgers | Rotation is still a priority for Dodgers

Fri, 18 Dec 2015 13:49:47 -0800

Cleveland Indians SPs Carlos Carrasco and Danny Salazar, and Tampa Bay Rays SP Jake Odorizzi are trade targets currently involved in ongoing negotiations to be dealt to the Los Angeles Dodgers, according to sources.

Fantasy Tip: The Los Angeles rotation is in need of a No. 2 after the departure of Zack Grienke this offseason. Heading to the National League would be a fantasy boon for any of the trio of American League starters, so stay tuned for updates on what develops from the Dodger's trade talks.

Cubs | Three starters on Cubs' radar

Fri, 11 Dec 2015 10:39:16 -0800

San Diego Padres SP Tyson Ross, Cleveland Indians SP Danny Salazar and Indians SP Carlos Carrasco are pitchers the Chicago Cubs have had trade talks about, according to sources.

Fantasy Tip: The latter two would receive fantasy value boosts with a move to the NL. Ross could lose some luster if he left Petco Park, but all three would be viable SP2 or SP3 options in mixed leagues.

Astros | Houston looking at Carlos Carrasco

Wed, 09 Dec 2015 10:13:16 -0800

The Houston Astros are one of a handful of teams that have checked in on Cleveland Indians SP Carlos Carrasco.

Fantasy Tip: Carrasco had an eye-popping 10.6 strikeouts per nine innings last year and is emerging as one of the more underrated fantasy pitchers for the Tribe. He makes for an excellent No. 2 fantasy starter regardless of where he's pitching in 2016.

Indians | Danny Salazar, Carlos Carrasco on the move?

Wed, 11 Nov 2015 11:50:43 -0800

The Cleveland Indians are discussing SPs Carlos Carrasco and Danny Salazar in trade talks with teams, and the Arizona Diamondbacks may be the best fit. However, no trades are close on either pitcher.

Fantasy Tip: Both Carrasco and Salazar are improving young pitchers with plenty of fantasy appeal, mainly for their swing-and-miss stuff. We see it as unlikely that the Tribe would deal any of them, but they're both not likely to see their fantasy values affected all that much if they leave Cleveland.

Indians | Carlos Carrasco suffers loss Wednesday

Wed, 30 Sep 2015 18:05:58 -0700

Cleveland Indians SP Carlos Carrasco (14-12) allowed five runs on five hits over three innings in a loss to the Minnesota Twins in the first game of a doubleheader Wednesday, Sept. 30. He walked two and struck out five.

Fantasy Tip: Carrasco ($7,900, 15.8% of cap) was making his final start of the regular season and did not retire any of the six batters he faced during the fourth inning before exiting the game. Fantasy owners in redraft leagues can drop him now.

Indians | Carlos Carrasco fans 15

Sat, 26 Sep 2015 01:18:06 -0700

Cleveland Indians SP Carlos Carrasco struck out 15 batters Friday, Sept. 25, as the Indians shut out the Kansas City Royals 6-0. Carrasco allowed just one hit.

Fantasy Tip: Manager Ned Yost may have made it easier for Carrasco ($7,900, 15.8% of cap) because he took most of his starters out of the lineup. Still, any double-digit strikeout performance is impressive and Carrasco has had some strong starts. Definitely keep him in mind.

Indians | Carlos Carrasco to start Tuesday

Mon, 07 Sep 2015 22:21:47 -0700

Cleveland Indians SP Carlos Carrasco (shoulder) will come off the 15-day disabled list Tuesday, Sept. 8, against the Chicago White Sox. He has missed time due to inflammation in his shoulder.

Fantasy Tip: Carrasco ($7,600, 15.2% of cap) has been a strong FantasyScore play for most of the season due to his high K/9 (strikeouts per nine innings) ratio.

Indians | Carlos Carrasco still on track

Sun, 06 Sep 2015 16:40:24 -0700

Cleveland Indians SP Carlos Carrasco (shoulder) didn't report any soreness following his bullpen session Saturday, Sept. 5, and he remains on track to start against the Chicago White Sox Tuesday, Sept. 8.

Fantasy Tip: Carrasco ($7,600, 15.2% of cap) carries some risk at FantasyScore coming off an injury, but he has enough upside against a White Sox lineup struggling against righties to warrant consideration in his return.

Indians | Carlos Carrasco could start Tuesday

Fri, 04 Sep 2015 14:34:52 -0700

Cleveland Indians SP Carlos Carrasco (shoulder) played catch Friday, Sept. 4, and will throw a bullpen session Saturday, Sept. 5, and could return to the rotation to start against the Chicago White Sox Tuesday, Sept. 8, according to manager Terry Francona.

Fantasy Tip: We normally caution daily gamers to play it safe with a pitcher returning from the DL, but Carrasco ($7,600, 15.2% of cap) could prove to be a fine addition to your FantasyScore lineups next week if he returns against the ChiSox. The White Sox have the 24th-ranked OPS against right-handers (.698) on the season.

Indians | Carlos Carrasco placed on DL

Wed, 26 Aug 2015 10:36:56 -0700

Cleveland Indians SP Carlos Carrasco (shoulder) has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with right shoulder inflammation. SP Cody Anderson will fill in for Carrasco until his expected return on Sept. 6.

Fantasy Tip: Carrasco ($8,000, 16.0% of cap) has had a good season and is an elite strikeout pitcher in daily leagues. At that price, it's best to see how he performs when he returns before selecting him on FantasyScore. There are better alternatives to his replacement, Cody Anderson, who is in his first start after returning from a stint on the disabled list.
