Cleveland Indians SPs Trevor Bauer, Josh Tomlin, Carlos Carrasco and Aaron Harang have all pitched well so far this spring and are making the competition for the final two rotation spots, depending on what happens with SP Danny Salazar, an interesting decision. Bauer is showing more control and is throwing harder than he did last spring.

Cleveland Indians SP Carlos Carrasco noticed his lead arm was slipping lower in his delivery Thursday, Feb. 27, and he made the in-game adjustment to fix it. "The problem in the past is I never thought about making an adjustment," Carrasco said. "I just threw the ball. But yesterday, I felt a big difference. That's the kind of mentality that I've worked on in the offseason."

Cleveland Indians SP Carlos Carrasco is competing with Ps Trevor Bauer, Aaron Harang and Josh Tomlin for the fifth spot in the rotation. SP Shaun Marcum (shoulder) also might join the battle when healthy. General manager Chris Antonetti said Carrasco is already on the club, whether it's in the bullpen or in the rotation, hoping that will relax the pitcher who is out of options. "He felt like he was pitching for his major league life," manager Terry Francona said of Carrasco before. "He knew there a chance he'd go to Triple-A." Carrasco has made some adjustments to his delivery to give him more deception.
Fantasy Tip: Carrasco has a live arm, and could be a boon to fantasy owners in the strikeouts department if he could win a job, pitch effectively and stay healthy. All of those things have been a problem in parts of five seasons in the majors to this point.

Cleveland Indians manager Terry Francona has noticed a drastic difference in SP Trevor Bauer's delivery this spring that has put him in a better position to throw strikes and stay healthy. "I think we're really excited. Again, he hasn't faced a hitter yet, but he looked like a different pitcher. That was nice to see," Francona said. Bauer will be competing with SPs Josh Tomlin and Carlos Carrasco for the last rotation spot in spring training.
